Wow that is beautiful. I love the warmer tone more saturated version but I don’t like tuck boxes! 😂. In the new deck do you get both the old and the new nine of wands. It’s interesting there are other violent images reflective of our troubled history but people seem to focus on certain ones. But when the then the cards are changed they turns into something that doesn’t show the shadow side of our existence that the card is intended to reflect. It’s a complicated issue.

Love this deck but at about $100 have not been able to purchase it yet. On the list though. Love several of the cards enough to just use as art.

Thanks for showing this side by side. Didn’t know there was an older version out there. Was hoping there was a difference in cardstock as it is so thick. Still I adore this deck. Got the newer version this year and it is my go to RWS. I get such clear readings with it every time. I also love the guidebook. From what I can see on your video I’d probably prefer the darker colors in the first version but I would keep both versions if I had them since it’s an Indie and may be hard to replace one day.

I like the original 9 of wands. Would probably keep the original version in terms of have bonded with that deck first although it is nice to have the 2 part box in the later edition and i prefer a matte card stock. Thank you for showing these side by side

Yes, I believe I prefer the original card too, but seeing as he’s the only naked person in the deck, he did stand out, but the Knight of Cups has no pants, so it all works out. 🥰 There is something cute about his shirt and pants though, I just wish there was more indication of battle. I can totally understand you’re having bonded with the original, so that’s good that you don’t feel pulled to purchase again. I’m deciding which to keep. 🤔

I prefer the unclothed one... I'm glad she gives you the option and didn't just change it. This beautiful deck is on my wishlist. Thanks for the walk through. I would keep the first edition personally. I love the color depth in the first edition.

Thank you for doing this comparison! The textured tarot is my soul deck. Out of all of the decks I own, this is my absolute favorite deck in my whole collection. You mentioned that this deck, specifically the devil card, reminds you of a different deck, but I couldn’t make out the name of the deck you spoke of. Would you please type out the name of the deck you were referring to? I am always on the hunt for more decks that speak to me to add to my collection and if there is another deck that feels like the textured tarot, I need to own it!!! Thanks so much in advance:) -Nora

I mentioned the Tyldwick Tarot which is now OOP, but it has a different feel than the Textured Tarot. Great deck!!!

The Night of cups is weird and i am kind of bummed that the colors are faded in the new version on a lot of the cards but i really need this deck in my life ! Thanks so much for the comparison 😃I love this deck ! Thanks again and many Blessings ! 💗💙💚

I do not like nudity in the cards but somehow I prefer the original 9 of wands. I am surprised people were not OK with this card because there are so many decks with even much more nudity, the thing is that it is mainly female nudity… so I am wondering why male nudity received such a feedback (I guess it was a strong one if the author decided to add a new card).. and in the new version of the card, indeed, there could be some scars visible thru ripped clothes to emphasize the message. I do like better the original coloring of the art, however, the difference is slight.

I like the new 9 of wands. I’m over tarot deck creators using stereotypes and fetishes of black people. I’m over black people being shown as only tribal, sexual, or strong. Racist stereotypes even in art aren’t ok. This deck does a way better job of being inclusive than others but to show everybody else in modern attire and the one black man scarred and almost naked is offensive. I’m glad she listened to the feedback she was given and changed it.
