This reading reminds me of a few old radio programs from the World War II era. The "theater of the mind" is at its best here. Mr. French is the perfect "conductor" for a symphony of horror and suspense! Thank you, Mr. H. F. Scotten and Mr. Edward E. French.

Hey! Thanks, Chris. Unfortunately, in the case of The Thing in the House , I couldn't find any biographical info on the author. Perhaps "Scotten" is a nom de plume.....E.E.F.

Those intros are extremely effective. I read the comment comparing it to Hitchcock, but I see Rod Serling 😉
@FrenchEdward06

I think the intros are a good "idea." The execution will continue to evolve. I think that if listeners were turned off by them would drop them, but it seems like everyone is giving them a thumbs up, so I will persist. Thanks for commenting. Wishing you better health than the people in these stories (lol). E.E.F.

ooooo - i'm back in the '50's with scary stories narrated just like this. . . :) OK - this is silly, but the chief reminded of Edward G. LOL i kept going - who is that? who the heck is that? and so good night, sweet prince - ‘If it be thus to dream, ... let me sleep!’ although the closer we get to 'The Day" the less i do sleep :}
