I stopped watching this documentary as soon as the modern day censors began blurring the scenes of war. War is offensive and if you are offended don't watch and don't go to or support war. That is the lesson here.

Well that’s exactly what the power base wants! They want war to be this obscure, foreign thing far away. “That doesn’t affect you, don’t worry about it just watch your football game”. If you got to see the carnage you might get ideas of peace in your mind and the powerful can’t afford that.

Just FYI for everyone who is annoyed with the censoring and blurring of war scenes-it’s KZbin which requires this, NOT the channel owner. The censorship being forced by Google and Big Tech is deplorable. We must demand that it stop!!

German people were extremely happy they all had jobs and great pay could afford a house could afford to have the wife stay home and raise the children,, the government had control of the banks that were only allowed to charge 2% for home loans and any other kind of loan,, in the rich had to pay 6% for their loans,, 0% unemployment,, government paid for vacations to the Baltic Sea all paid for on luxury ships where there was only one class no second or third class, cabins like in Britain,,,

People must have been freaking out when their vision had been black and white for so long and then all of a sudden they had color vision. Imagine if mankind had had the ability to see in color for it's whole existence. We'd probably be much further along right now. It still goes to show how well the human body adapts and is always changing.

There is no reason to blur out the screen when something intense is shown. That is treating the audience like children. We grew up seeing that stuff in documentaries all the time, never censored, and it wasn't a problem. And if you don't want to show it anyway, then there is no point showing a totally blurred screen. Just edit the offending part out.

Agreed, and look how lame today's kids are turning out to be. If we don't show the reality of violence and war then we are depriving them! All these war docs are missing the women who flashed their breasts to our servicemen too. Every makeshift runway from Norway to Midway had flashers on them saluting our pilots. Why are they not shown?

the actual geopolitical tragedy of a 20th century was not the fall of the soviet union, but rather germanys loss in ww2, because then there would not be ussr, but a pretty world order with competent european people in charge.

34:23 Poland did not capitulate. Elements of Polish Army capitulated on October 6th 1939 while Polish goverment escaped to Great Britain and continued to function, eventually reestablishing Polish Army in the West. In occupied Poland elements of Polish State continued to function underground.

The music of the anthem of the Soviet Union was written by the composer Alexander Alexandrov in 1943. However, this piece is based on a melody written by the German composer Carl Michael von Weber. Weber created a popular melody for his opera Weber's Symphony, and parts of it were used for the Soviet national anthem.

The Germans had style in uniforms over the Allies in spades. The Allies uniforms, with the exception of the Americans, loook ridiculous.
