hi, i'm really struggling with remembering all the dates and events/their consequences, especially for Cold War and Germany. do you have any advice for remembering key dates and events? i've tried flashcards but they take ages to make :(

Hey, yeah this is really tricky. I wouls sit down and decide which dates you think are really important and focus on those. See if you can relate them to dates in your own life or that you can attach to other facts. E.g. I remember that the Berlin Wall was built on the 12th August 1961 because thats my brother's birthday and I only have to remember the 61 bit. Another example is I remember the year Henry the Eight became king by saying King Eight Oh Nine. Just find what works for you.

@@TheHistoryTeacherUK okay, thanks! that's really helpful :D for Cold War, it's hard to decide which events are the most important as even the smallest event could come up in the narrative question! that's a very good technique, so i will definitely try that!

@@aesthetic_disney_1239 Dont forget the narrative account will include the dates the event takes place e.g. The Hungarian Uprising of 1956. The most important thing is to remember the order it happens in.

@@pramitjain4351 it doesn't sadly there's only topic 1 and topic 2, you'll have to go somewhere else for topic 3, which basically covers the end of the cold war, Ronald Reagan's presidency and the collapse of soviet control in eastern Europe, from the years 1970-1991. hope that helps

Hey, I'm glad you found it useful, so the consequences would be the things that were decided. So a consequence of Tehran would be the USA and UK opened a second front in Europe and a consequence of Potsdam would be the denazification of Germany. Really helpful feedback, I'll make sure that's clear in future videos.
