0:32 Listen like a coach. Superficial level active listening is repeating to make sure you've heard what they ment. A deeper level is listening for hopes and aspirations, strenghts and talent, values and passions, emotions, inconsistencies and for what's missing. 1:09 Think like a coach. How can I best serve the person that I'm coaching? Is it a question, an insight, a challenge, an affirmation? Maybe it's simply silence? 2:03 Speak like a coach. Everything the coach says is in service of the person they are coaching. It's not to look good, it's not to show how smart you are, it's not to share your views on a particular topic. Assume the other person is capable and responsable of their career, work and life as adults.

Thank you bigtime as your tips have given me light bulb moments... I was trying to show how smart I was and this stemmed from a self esteem issue. So you raised a great point on not showing how you smart you are and to focus instead on the client! They are no 1 and not my ego of proving how good I am! Thank you sir, really appreciate it as now I know what I was doing wrong :)
