The Three Degrees is an American female vocal group, which was originally formed in 1965 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The original members were Fayette Pinkney, Shirley Porter and Linda Turner. Porter and Turner were soon replaced by Janet Harmon and Helen Scott. The line-up from 1967 to 1976 was Pinkney, Valerie Holiday and Sheila Ferguson, who would go on to sing lead on most of the group's biggest hits.

So underrated. This was a super group of the 70s to early 80s and this was probably their biggest hit. I was around 7 or 8 at the time I first heard and saw them on TV. I fell in love with them right away,, and their songs were so captivating & so well constructed & crafted & well produced. They always had stunning tight & well arranged harmonies that reminded me of the jones girls. Shiela’s vocal performance here ..was near perfection. She has the right tone and the correct interpretation delivering this stunning rendition. (What a beautiful voice) I personally think they were one if not the best black girl groups of the period. The Supremes dominated the 60’s and early 70s but (THE THREE DEGREES) smashed them out the box vocally including performative . Sheila had the most stunning of smiles and amazing set of white glossy fashion mag teeth. She looked like a fashion model. They had very tight stage presence & performance with never a step missed, and a captive fiery energy on stage that no one could avoid or match in the day. They were super stars.❤🙏🏼
