One of my favourite films of all time. Watched it first with my father at age 11. That Halloween I desperately wanted to dress as Conan. My mother wasn't keen, but that is a tale for another time.... That Christmas my father gave 9 Conan books he found in a joblot at an auction. To this day i still have all 9 and more now. We watched that film together once a week for my entire teenage years it felt like. There was a time, in my 20's, when i was struggling with my professional life. My father while visiting me told me I couldn't trust in others to tell me the me truth, that they had ulterior motives. He picked up one of those Conan novels, held out to me. 'This. This you can trust.'

The people pleaded for guidance and were rewarded with naught but the empty wind, sighing between the trees. The people were desolate, rejected by their gods and ignored by their leaders. Hope waned.
