Btw, because Horses are livestock and not Companion Animals in the eyes of the law. Killing horses to feed Tigers is not illegal. It's sad to hear they didn't euthanize the horse properly by making it's death as painless as possible, but same accusations for pigs, cows, etc and many of the meat we eat.

@Emma Thompson Um, I guess you haven't been following how cows and pigs are slaughtered. They got a special factory machine, where they automatically stab a bullet into the head and pull out to kill them. Like the whole process of killing cows and pigs for food are all machine automated. Seen animal rights protest of this, because sometimes the machines don't stab the brain in the correct place and the poor animal gets slaughtered alive by machines.

@@JK-zu1np well they don't use a bullet to stab them in the head it's a bolt and then as soon as thats done they slit their throat so they can drain out and just in case they didn't die in step one slitting their throat will kill them. Its not all automated and they don't get cut up alive at any butcher plant, now a backyard butcher thats a different story but they do same basic process, gotta slit their throat so they can drain for a while otherwise it would be a big ass mess and it would affect the taste of the meat.

As a psychotherapist speaking as a viewer .... Joe had gone years ranting about Carole. He was happy in that space. He was daily stretched for money. It might be the edit, but it certainly looks like Jeff Lowe set up Joe. He planted the idea in his head and then he supplied the assassin Alan at a ridiculously low price. Alan was right there. Jeff was pushing. Carole (and Jeff) had taken everything. And, Joe bit. Had Jeff not pushed and supplied Alan at a ridiculously low price.... none of that would have happened. How much Joe is culpable in a case like this is a subjective guess for a jury. And, it is only a subjective guess.

I hate to tell you but Joe is the one that contacted Jeff to come save the zoo because authorities were already investigating Joe for selling cubs illegally, he was grooming underage boys to come be part of the zoo instead of returning to school like they were required so eventually he would con them into being with him, he was already after Carol long before Jeff came along and was already being investigated for approximately 3 years before he contacted Jeff. The original agreement was Joe was going to still keep and run the zoo but put everything in Jeff’s name so authorities couldn’t come after him for anything else. If Joe was so innocent why did he try running instead of sticking around, getting a lawyer, and keeping his nose clean? Him running tells me he’s just as guilty as Carol is. Jeff was living in Las Vegas with Lauren and didn’t care what Joe was doing until he found out Joe was forging his name to cash bogus checks, he was having the zoo money pay for things like his campaign which was illegal because it was a nonprofit organization, and all the drugs he needed to keep his husbands and bf’s doped up and locked away in the house. There’s a shit ton of flash drives of Joe allowing zoo workers to have sex with animals and his personal homemade porn videos in his sex dungeon. So Joe is just as guilty as Carol. Jeff was building his own zoo in Colorado when Joe contacted him. If Jeff needed Joe’s zoo so bad why did he let it go and not turn it into whatever he wanted to after Joe ran and got arrested? Doesn’t make sense to me.

I agree with you 💯. Joe is the one that contacted Jeff to come help him originally. The original plan was put everything in Jeff’s name so the authorities couldn’t do anything with the zoo because it wasn’t Joe’s on paper. Jeff didn’t care what Joe did with the zoo after that and he and Lauren were living in Las Vegas until they found out Joe was forging checks in their name and spending every penny the zoo had and didn’t have on drugs and ammo, the campaign, to fix Dillan’s teeth, 3 different plastic surgeries, and a hitman for Carol. Joe was used to being able to bullying people into doing whatever he wanted them to do until Jeff and Alan came along and refused to take his bs and Joe quickly turned into a little bitch when they stood up to him with straight facts and evidence.

I would do anything to make my story untrue. I gain nothing from telling my story. And I hate being associated with Joe Exotic. I am embarrassed I fell for his cult shit. It is your right to wonder if I'm telling the truth or not. And it's good that you are thinking. My only intention is to bring awareness to an absolutely awful situation for animals. To make up stories that were untrue would get me in trouble for defamation. Also my story pales in comparison to what other have told. Every time I hear one of these horse stories, no matter who tells it, I think the same thing: Who would bring their pet/beloved/etc horse to a roadside zoo FULL of Big Cats and really believe the horse is going to have a big pasture in which to spend the rest of its long life? I mean, seriously? Maybe they wanted to think that, to let themselves off the hook, or make their kids feel better. I call BS on anyone who says they didn't suspect that would happen to their horse when they took it there. Could they have been killed more humanely, probably? Anyone that's been around animals, especially large animals knows that when they are sick, w no chance of recovery, the animal is put down whether by lethal injection or by a single gunshot...it's the Humane thing to do. It's not easy, but it's the best for the animal. And if Joe did in fact have to put down the animals that he couldn't find homes for , it was better than leaving them to suffer 😢

Also I was a little hyped during this interview because a few months a head if this I had given so many interviews I was going out of my mind. In my opinion I wish I never met Joe or ever got involved with the exotic animal industry. Nothing about it enriched my life....and anything I have ever said or seen has had no effect on it. If anything it makes me look like a crazy dude when all I ever wanted to do was to enrich the lives of animals and awareness through video. At that time I didn't no the true nature of the exotic animal industry nor did I know what it would do to me. I am very glad to be out of it. I have never had a bad experience with the Baskins and I have never seen them abuse animals I've only seen them try to help. And they have never paid me for anything except they did help me buy the exotic animal TV trademark years ago.

I couldn't even finish watching tiger king because I felt so bad for the animals. I have been watching KZbin videos to try and see what I missed on the TV show. I'm happy this guy is speaking out. I havent seen another youtuber focus on the abuse of animals, which is the most important lesson to learn from the series. I think Carol Baskin has good intentions but her effort is clouded by her late husband's murder mystery. People unfortunately are more interested in Joe and baskins personal dramas. This guy speaking out is refreshing. I couldn't imagine how scarred I would be if I saw these things in person.

Joe should not be in prison for hiring to murder from what I have seen. Of course this guy is going to say the baskins are good people because they have money. Joe is a character, no doubt. He may be guilty of trying to keep his zoo going but not maybe in the best way. There is still a cold case and Carole seemed untouchable for her husband disappearing and presumed dead. Where is the real justice. These animal owners are different but why is there no justification for this man who is dead.
