Someone should point out to Osie she hasn't caught shingles or chicken pox multiple times. It's like a cold sore...once you have the virus you have the virus. On some people it'll remain dormant after the first instance, on others it will return periodically. You aren't recontracting shingles...you're just having an outbreak of the thing you already have.

Chicken pox vaccine is given in the US along with other ones as a kid. It's not in the UK because the cost of the vaccine is nearly three times as expensive as treating a kid with the virus, so it's economically better for the NHS. You can get it, but it costs money. It's only really free for adults who haven't had chicken pox already and are at risk of contracting it (eg. new parents, nurses, doctors, teachers).

PSA: Don't eat frozen veg without cooking it first. There have been several cases of people getting food poisoning from frozen fruit and veg that they ate without cooking them first. Freezing doesn't kill things like salmonella, it just leaves it dormant.
