He matched the Randomland font so well and all done by hand, without the use of a computer controlled router, wow that's is spectacular work.

What a great sign!!!!! Yes, thanks for showing us Don's in another video too! We took a friend there for her birthday in November on a Sunday Reggae night! The Hula Girls sound great! We would have been there Saturday too if we knew they were playing! Will have to keep an eye out on the website's calendar!

Mr. Justin, your insights about midcentury postwar entertainments are insightful and profound. Sorry if that sounds pretentious, but honestly, you are as deep as you are entertaining. I hope your viewership gets that and trust that we all do. Please keep doing what you do. You're not just a cool dude, but also a great American archivist. Thank you!

YAYYY, Ralphs! Subject of many a Johnny Carson/Tonight Show joke, mainstay of my former existence in Simi Valley, and all-round "good guy". And Don the Beachcomber! ALWAYS wanted to go there, after having heard about it from many sources. I thank you for helping me complete some of my bucket list items. (Don, not Ralph). You pretty much hit the nail on the head with your assessment of Post-War America, I feel. Good insight! And, Spike's gift to you is nothing short of AWESOME! PERFECT way to celebrate you and Randomland!

It all fell into place now - I'd been wondering ever since the last video featuring this place why it seemed so eerily familiar... then I saw that it was in Huntington Beach, which was the last place we lived before we moved up to the SF Bay Area in 1972. It clicked - my folks used to take us out to dinner there from time to time!! I've actually been there!! Of course, I was only 9 the last time I went, but I've always remembered it because I loved the "Tiki" theme - and the breaded, deep-fat fried "shrimp" (is it really a shrimp if it's 3 - 4 inches long?) :-)

What a cool place! Reminds me of the kind of joints they got down in the Florida Keys. You and Ally should try to get out there and get your Jimmy Buffet on. :-)

We should all find out who Don's landlord is and thank them for renting to such a well known popular restaurant, and if they own any other properties, ask Don's to open up another location. That should spin the landlord's head completely around.
