Something I think is important to note whenever cults are involved is that anyone is susceptible to cult tactics. They are experts at targeting people. They reel people in when they're at their most vulnerable. It can happen to anyone and does not reflect poorly on the intelligence of the victims.

As a young adult, it's surprising to learn how often people fall into cults. You grow up hearing about those things and think its like a mystic, deep underground industry only a small handful of oddballs fall for, but its so much more common than expected. I genuinely think how to spot cults (and mlm scams) should be taught as part of safety in schools.
@rochellebee6484Күн бұрын
Anyone can fall for a cult or scam, all it takes is the right one at the right time. People are generally desperate or feel that something missing in their life when they fall for them, be it finances, loneliness, grief, illness, stress, lack of sleep, mental decline, old age, changes in technology or something else that opens the door to trying to find a solution and susceptible to listening to the message. All it takes is a change of factors in your life, and the right message said in the right way. It has very little to do with intelligence, competence, or how good a person you are, just how vulnerable you are at a given time, and anyone can be vulnerable. Critical thinking helps a lot, but also the trust and support of a community around you for when you are vulnerable and not thinking clearly. People who think they cant fall for something of this nature are deluding themselves, and actually making it easier to be targeted, as that sort of hard thinking will also make it harder for outside people to convince them that this is a cult or scam. Probably the best protection in many ways is weirdly laziness, a lot of these schemes rely on you either putting in work with little return to trigger the sunken cost falicy that makes you keep going to see the promised return, or takes up all your free time with activities with the group so that you don't have time to think and start loosing your outside support. Just like anyone I could fall for the right one, but damn there is no way I am going to meetings on the regular or working for nothing, Im not moving anywhere or dealing with randos or having additional requirements on my time, I'm too flaky for that nonsense and get bored far to quickly, also cant deal with constant toxic positive messaging and promises, I want data and real conversation.

Listening to this, my immediate thought is “how delusional do you have to be to believe something like this?!” But, as a recovering addict, I remembered that if you feel lost enough, you’ll grab onto anything that makes you feel better, or makes you feel like you have some control over your life. Obviously drugs & cults are going to give you exactly the opposite, but at first it feels like relief. I never thought I’d be an addict, either. Even at rock bottom, I was like, “I knew better, how did I end up here?” But if you’re in a vulnerable state of mind, sometimes common sense goes straight out the window.

People don’t like to hear it, but a lot of religious Fanaticism is just what people call “false prophets” and scammers. You’d be surprised at successful people with careers, degrees, but they lack common sense and discernment to see when someone is yanking their chain and trying to squeeze a buck out of them or to use them for their own gain. I think this is a common misconception in religion or at least Christianity. Some denominations or churches say they actually hear the voice of God which is concerning. But in theological schools, which I am currently going to teaches you that “hearing” the voice of the Lord is more so like a sudden thought that pops into your head unwarranted or someone telling you something that guides you. Unfortunately a lot of people are manipulated and worth is questioned in some churches when you can’t audibly hear the voice of God.

Even if you know NOTHING about religion… you should know that these people are not in ANY holy book, let alone “prophets” of God. 💀 SO pathetic, proving that they don’t even believe in anything except maybe their own lies.

God taking time to speak to influencers, but no time for starving children. He seems to really love talking to westerners and rich people.

Yeah if some one tells me to get rid of my pet, that's a no from me Dawg. My mom has thought me a respect and love for animals. The moment you tell me it's Maeve (my cat), or me? I grab my little bundle of love and peace out.

AWUUUGAAA uncle Herman posted!!!! 😝 but re: to the video It is extremely sad to see people fall to a cult, especially when you realize how easy it is to fall into one 💔 I pray she gains strength to disassociate from those energy sucking manipulative broke a$$ losers -.-

As someone who was also miserable like Ruby was- I can say that Jesus 100% saved my LIFE. He revealed Himself to me, and changed me from the inside out. RELIGION IS THE PROBLEM- NOT A RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST!! If i never wen to church again a DAY in my life I would be fine and my relationship with God would be just as strong. These churches really push people away from seeking Jesus and give Christianity such a bad name :-( False prophets will be revealed

Pretty sure this channel took the video off TikTok and that was someone using that filter typically to show like a text message in the background or something but they made themselves super small so you’re able to watch the whole video and nothing is hidden.

16:45 "Condemnation of the Spirit" is nowhere near "fundamentalist" and she at no point said that having "autonomy over her own body" was of the devil. This video went from calling out a cult to shaming regular faith REAL quick.
