The time Dragon Ball looked like One Piece

Back in the early 2000's a new intro for the video game Dragon Ball Z Sagas was produced. However, characters took on a somewhat different look than seen prior looking very similar to One Piece. So the question is how did this happen? Well join me today as we uncover that answer :)

We often underestimate how overstylized mangas are compared to american comicbooks, everyone can tell apart picture made by Toriyama from one made by Oda, but it takes a closer look to distinguish a picture made by Kirby from one made by Romita sr.

I personally find it hard to not carry things over from different styles of work. Sometimes when drawing I go with the old reliable dragonball eyebrows on my kingdom hearts characters. So its understandable how this animation turned out. Record of ragnorok however, I'm curious as to what happened here.

Yeah Frieza looks quite thin and small indeed, but in fairness Vegeta was quite short originally when he first appeared, it's more so later in the series he seems to increase in height for whatever reason.

Personally. I love the old style for both dbz & one piece. I personally hated the modern style super & one piece bad during the 2010s (yamamuro i think it was?) Idk it just looks so blocky and wax like to me (i know it got better as the shows went on) but never liked it. However i love the new shintani style one piece and dbs:broly has. It's so fluid and while maybe seeming simple atfirst allows for so much movement when animating and just looks on its own very nice
