After Elvis collapsed, he rung up his best friend Jerry Schilling, who went to his aid, and also confronted the doctors.

Jerry is a stand up man. Jerry knew Elvis since 1954 and was always there for Elvis and his family - and still is now, nearly 70 years after he met Elvis. Thank you for your kindness to Elvis and his family and us, Jerry. A man of integrity and kindness.

Jerry Schilling seems to be a very good person. He was Elvis's good friend and he was very loyal to Elvis. And even after Elvis passed away, Jerry was there for Priscilla and Lisa Marie all these years. He escorted Lisa Marie to the Golden Globes and let her lean on him as she appeared very frail and weak 😢 He's a good man and a true friend 🙏

All the guys around Elvis were good to him. Not just Jerry. They all genuinely cared about him.

@@peterm1826 As you can see, the topic is about Jerry Schilling, so that's who I commented about. And not all of Elvis's MM were very nice or loyal, such as Sonny West, Red West and Dave Hebler who backstabbed Elvis with their book, "Elvis: What Happened?" The worst part is the book came out on August 1, 1977 just 15 days before Elvis passed away. Now that is horrible.

I knew Jerry. He was the ONLY true friend Elvis had. I was in the music business for about 15 years when I met Jerry and the rest of the Memphis Mafia. Sad to say, I didn’t really hold the guys in high regard. They just seemed like lazy, entitled hangers on. Jerry was the only one who I witnessed being kind and concerned. I spent some time at Graceland and can honestly attest to the fact that Larry Geller and Jerry Schilling, loved Elvis and truly wanted the best for him. God bless them both.

I don't believe a word Jerry Schilling says. He always needs to look like the good guy and I don't believe him after he still won't admit why Elvis was in DC because he was with Elvis to find another woman and Zilla would get mad at his accompanying him to cheat on her. Just save it, Jerry 🙄

agree with you 100%. Always calls Elvis his "best friend", he left to manage the Beach boys for the last year of Elvis' life (which he had a right to do) yet he also pallies up with that snake ex-wife who is still bleeding a dead man dry. No trust for either of them

His all about h imself, very dramatic, very much about his feelings, the movie Elvis and Nixon sucked, thanks to his story telling, he is too much about himself....Schiling was ten years younger than Elvis, he was a kid to Elvis. SOme of his stuff is good, and but just too dramatic ........he has become a good story teller .....he should go on the road and tour with some Mark Twain stories....LOL

@@jimcowan8770 I used to think so until I learned that he lied about how the Nixon meeting went down. Once a liar always a liar, in my opinion. Plus he’s Priscilla’s shadow (wrong move) and has made himself into a so-called “go-to” person for facts. I know Elvis gave him his home and all and Jerry cared for Elvis. But the things I just said just make me sick of him.

This guy was a real friend to Elvis but although these star struck doctors certainly enabled the situation it was Elvis that was doing this to himself and when somebody that is that famous and has that many resources if they want something they are going to get it. And he trusted the doctors way too much until one day there was no more choice he needed these drugs just to get by a lot of them so dangerous they don’t even make anymore with all the drugs in his toxicology there is no doctor who would ever prescribe all these at the same time there were several involved which is wild to think because they already have shown dr nick prescribed him something like 10,000 pills in the course of a year. It’s no surprise he was using medication what normal person could do multiple shows a day 7 days a week for months on end without some help now you add the fact that he was an insomniac to the situation and it’s a recipe for disaster basically the same story as Michael Jackson they got to a certain point where they said I will sleep no matter what even if it has to be medically induced then you need stimulants to counteract the effects of these powerful sedatives it by was a vicious cycle that was created in part because of the colonels greed can you imagine a manger taking 50% nowadays? Elvis should’ve never been in a position that he even had to keep pushing himself like that to keep the money coming in at that age but because he was so generous and the colonel was screwing him it was necessary to his head above water on top of dealing with debilitating medical problems and a wicked drug dependence at a time where his money should’ve been working for him
