I met Jerry Schilling at the Coffee Bean at Sunset Blvd, in West Hollywood. He's a first-class gentleman. We talked about Elvis and every time that I would see him, we would greet each other and chat for a while. Big props to Elvis and Jerry!

Uncle Jerry did not keep Lisa Marie safe from Priscilla's boyfriend... Priscilla was so manipulative and those who fell for her just couldn't see who she really was...

Loved when Jerry spoke at Lisa Marie’s memorial. He spoke about how he called her “Memphis” & she always called him by his full name “Jerry Schilling”. So glad that he’s remained in Priscilla’s life, he’s still a loyal friend to Elvis after all these years.

judytinker3392, I don't think Jerry Schilling would be the type of guy who would dislike Priscilla, he always spoke well of her, when I think about it, Jerry was there at the beginning of Lisa's life, I watched an interview with Jerry, he said Elvis was holding Lisa, they just come home from the Hospital and Elvis gave Lisa to Jerry, Jerry said he was scared because he had never held a baby in his life and Elvis was so relaxed about It like he done this before. I think Jerry is like Elvis he's not a hater.

Elvis died when I was 6 years old. So a little before my time. Always knew who he was and listened to his music a bit. Apon researching him deeper wow. This guy was born to be a star. A stars star. Amazing talent. Elvis had great career but we only saw 50% of what he could've been. If his career was handled by a good manager who cared about him he would have done so much more musically and acting. Fake Colonal Parker was a piece of garbage. Then of course the addiction and tragic death at 42. As great a star he was he left so so much on the table. There will never be another Elvis. R.I.P. King

Jerry Schilling always a great interview. He touched on two subjects here that are always of extreme interest to me and I'm so glad he had a chance to go a little deeper on the subject as he only verified what I had already come to believe myself... (based on my own research). On the subject of Elvis being an "underrated producer", it is always boggled my mind how little attention this subject has received throughout the years. People that know anything about the creative musical process know that Producing & Arranging is as important a part of the process as anything else. It's a discredit to Elvis's creative-legacy that people always reduce him to just being "a great singer". More people need to understand that Beyond his incredible vocal ability, he also was a very talented creative force in the studio. Those that know anything about creating music in the studio have tremendous respect for those with Producing and Arranging skills... these are skills that Elvis is documented to have had by many of the other professional musicians that worked with him in the studio and have talked about these things. Felton Jarvis (the best known Producer that worked with Elvis throughout much of his career) is on record in a documented interview saying that - "Elvis really was the Executive Producer in charge of just about everything, while I ..." (Felton himself) ... "was really more only just an Assistant. But Elvis was really the head guy running the sessions". That's a very important quote. And it's important that people understand why. Jerry is correct! The other topic Jerry touched on is he felt Elvis deserved writing credit (or at least recognition) for lyrics of - "If I Can Dream". I've been saying this myself for years, as we already know the songwriter Earl Brown was inspired to write those lyrics based primarily on things Elvis himself had expressed and talked about. Furthermore Steve Binder himself admitted in one interview that the lyrics in that song really came from some of Elvis's own words they heard him speak. This was not a typical song written by someone else and Elvis just liking the lyrics and singing it. It is a beautiful powerful song literally composed BECAUSE of inspiration from Elvis himself. Again, Mr. Schilling is correct. Really great stuff from Jerry Schilling, (and solid job by interviewer also)

Thank you Jerry for being such a great friend to Elvis, but What about Charlie Hodge, wasn’t he a pretty loyal friend too. I really like this interview and had not seen much about Jerry before this new movie. Charle always spoke highly of Elvis and he managed a lot of the stage presentation. Sang with Elvis and was very close to him. I loved the new movie and even though during the creative process things were changed up a bit or even added to or left out, it is still a very touching life story of two people in twined within a fast pace world in a time of change beyond anything ever seen. Or ever will be seen! 45 years after his death, We are still in awe of Elvis and all that he stood for. Many were close to him, some more than others of course. Jerry is such a good guy and You can see the love he had for his friend. I can’t imagine being in this position, or any of those who were with Elvis during this historical time. I grew up watching this all unfold, but at the time, we knew we were in love, but little did we know the whole of it all. I hope they bring more out about the films extra footage…would love it. God Bless..RIP EP, you will never be forgotten.

Such an interesting and inspiring interview for real. And exactly my thoughts too: today times are similar to the '68 comeback and "if I can dream" is very up to date. The first time I heard Elvis sing was his Gosple songs. My grandmother had a Sears record player stereo. I saw his album cover and my grandmother told me about him. Then when I heard hound dog...I was a little confused. Love this interview so so so much. Such a generous man. Jerry, you're a class act. And sending best wishes to you from Arkansas!

Fortunately Elvis also had other loyal friends (George Klein, Charlie Hodge, Dick Grob, Patti Perry,...) but the way Jerry talks/writes about Elvis is certainly my favourite one, such as the way he took care of Lisa.

You were a great friend to Elvis and later to Lisa Marie and Pricilla . I have read some of his books like “ A Guy named Elvis “.

Jerry was good for and to Elvis. Lisa loved him as well. He's such a wonderful guy. Wish you were his Manager. Tom Parker was no good for him. ❤

Thank you for a great interview from someone who lived it unlike the know it all negative Nellie who talk like they know but wasn't there or apart of the life of a man who basicly had to live the way he did. Elvis sounds like he had a good heart no pun intended. He died way to soon.

Fortunately, Elvis also had other friends as loyal as Jerry : Charlie Hodge, George Klein, Larry Geller, for instance. I'd like to hear Jerry and Larry sharing their memories of Elvis in a nowadays perspective.

i Love Jerry but why do people forget about Billy Smith/ Elvis' Cousin....? Who even has a KZbin Channel "Elvis Fans Matter" Billy is 8 years younger than Elvis Billy lived at Graceland He was with him all the time never says a bad word about Elvis... I think most believe he is not alive HE IS THE ONLY "ORIGINAL" MM ALIVE!!! He tells stories about growing up with Elvis his whole life and funny stories about Elvis and Him & Elvis / Gladys's Nephew

I agree with you about Billy Smith. I don’t know why he is left out of so many interviews! I wonder if he was even invited to Lisa Marie’s memorial.😢

Except there is a problem with Billy because Lisa was not in his life. Billy also bashed the new Elvis movie. He strikes me as earning his living off of Elvis stories.
