Excellent live performances of "The Walk" and "777-9311" from December 1982. This was done to promote their album "What Time Is It?" These records are from their 1982 release, "What Time Is It?", and I encourage you all to buy that and their other works. I do not own this video nor the rights to it. posslife.com
The Time:
Morris Day - Lead Vocals
Jesse Johnson - Lead Guitar & Backing Vocals
Terry Lewis - Bass Guitar & Backing Vocals
James "Jimmy Jam" Harris III - Keyboards & Backing Vocals
Monte Moir - Keyboards & Backing Vocals
Garry "Jellybean" Johnson - Drums
Jerome Benton - Mirror, Percussion, & Backing Vocals

I have seen The Time twice ( only original members), and they were the tightest, baddest band. And yes, Prince was afraid of them. I do wish that they made album with Prince as a member as on cover, playing next to Jesse. Prince, Jimmy Jam, Terry, Monte, and Jesee writing songs.

now this is how an audience is supposed to react to a band like this - people are screaming and cheering and dancing having the time of their lives. That makes the band feel like their presence there is more than welcomed and respected and in turn the band gets hyped up to give the audience a show unlike any they've ever seen before. And I bet everyone there went home feeling they won the lottery and Willy Wonka's top ticket at the same damn time. LOL

Real singers, musicians playing live! Musicians whom knew how to read, write and compose music. They respected the craft. Middle class wages paid for their music/singing lessons. Once upon a time we had music classes in public schools! Racism and greed took it all away. Taxes will bring it all back! If not, the arts will die. Vote people, -VOTE! -VOTE FOR DEMOCRATS!! Make the rich pay more taxes, not less or we will all perish! VOTE!! Your life depends on it.

You had to bring your ignorant political views into this great video. So I will tell you where you are wrong. I hope in the two years since you posted that you learned how stupid your remarks about racism and the virtues of democrats. How about get a job instead of worrying about rich people. Rich people provide jobs--they don't need to pay as much taxes because of that. Our tax law encourages that otherwise they just keep their money and you work at a car wash. You are probably one of those people waiting for government to give you a check because you are a liberal loser acting on emotions rather than results. Explain how racism and greed took away music classes. Sounds like a typical liberal excuse rather than a solution to your problem. Could be that democrat governments would rather pay illegal immigrant benefits than take care of schools? Democrats gave you BLM---Burning, Looting, and Murder in all the democrat run cities last summer. Now you have Biden. Too bad you didn't work on the fraud for the lower offices so you could really screw it up. I hope you are happy because you will regret your democrat government. Just wait and see how we turn out.

And one of a few People other than Prince with Co-Writer's credit. And then he bought Prince's early Mixing console from him when Prince upgraded his own sudio. Susan Rogers said that Prince was so distant that when she started, Jesse showed her how he liked his console set up...

actually they could have, they toured as Morris Day and the Time for years and played all their old material, Prince basically just would not let them use the name to record new material under. I saw them in NYC years ago and they were using it, the only original members at the time were Morris, Jelly Bean, Monte and Jerome, then all the original members got back together and recorded their new record un the name" the original 7". I read in a recent Morris Day interview, that looking back, he thought Prince made the right decision in not letting them use the name the Time to record under.
