If she can send Kaido into the future it would be a good way to solve many issues but there are probably restrictions on how many people she can send into future at once and Kaido may be over the weight/mass limit, after all sending your enemies into the future is a better option than going into the future yourself (you want to have time to prepare and not let your enemies have time to prepare for your arrival some years later)

I don't know if it has been done in fantasy already, but I'd find it cool for the toki no mi power to work like that: You can only control time you already spent - that means you start with a "time account balance" as soon as you ate the fruit. At this moment, there is no time on your account but as you live normaly, that spent time is added to your account - let's say a year. You would now be able to travel a year into the future (but that drains all of your saved up time-points, which means, on the other way round, you couldn't go back any further than to the point when you ate the fruit). I haven't thought this through really, but like Tekking, I like my time travel with understandable rules. You could add like a negative multiplier: You can only travel a tenth of the time you spent regular. If you add the "no time traveling to the past" rule to this, you'd take away the silly OPness of the basic premise. Of add some other drawback, you age twice as fast or lose life years for time traveling. I feel like "only being able to travel the future" plus maybe uncertain bonus abilities is still way too strong, compared to the powerlevel of all other fruits

Imagine touching them mid attack to send them a few seconds forward, and timing when they will reappear to hit them from behind. Here's a head trip for you. Time may just be a matter of our perception of it and our consciousness. It may not really exist at all! So your description of the present was very well done. Even wackier is this concept from Sci-fi. If you were to create a simulation where time is accelerated and you could have your mind connected to that and see that as reality you could learn entire LIFETIMES of knowledge and gain experience in a very short amount of time. Since the current understanding of awakend, seems to be able to controle the surroundings with the abilitys of your fruit. That would make it possible for that Time-Chamber. I don't think the basic tools of the fruit allow that. My tip currently is: Toki send Momo and the others into the future. She would go ahead about 2-3 years, enaugh time to cool everything down and train her fruit up to the point of awakening, maybe go then ahead to the current time-line. Or she already is awakened and goes 20 something years ahead to the exact time that is now and we see her in a few chapters already progressing the training of everyone by another year by the cost of her own life. Oda has always a strong repercussion system for owerpowered things in place, seaprison stone or weaknesses like water for crocodile.

in the Mistborn books by Brandon Sanderson, there's a metal called Atium which allows certain characters to temporarily see a short distance into the future. They can do things like predict the path of an arrow, block attacks before they even finish, etc. It's said that the only way to defeat it is to have another Atium burner (burning is the term for using it in the magic system). However, it had a logical weakness: you know what your opponent will do before they do. You will react before they finish their action, which allows them to glean a bit of knowledge to change their future. This is only used once that I can remember, but it was still cool.

My theory: Lady toki was given a key role in the void century by the leaders who knew of her ability. She had to travel forward in time make sure the will of D was carried out and if not at least passed on, she kept traveling forward until she got to oden and Rogers generation which was the most likely generation up till that point to carry out the will of D so she decided to stay there and help. However when kaido invaded and cornered her she decided to give up her life to send multiple people into the future this is where we pick up the story with momo. I like the idea about hiori (momo's sister) receiving the fruit from her mother who passed away. That's pretty much my head canon. Oh and BTW the ability you were describing about controlling time in an isolated space sounded very similar to foxy's fruit I think it was the slow slow fruit

22:09 DIO was able to stop time for around 10 second during his fight with Jotaro (he started out with roughly 5 seconds i think) Jotaro couldn't go beyond 5 seconds because the Time Stop puts massive strain on his body (DIO is a vampire so he doesn't experience that)

So I'm not sure if anybody's mentioned this but I just had an interesting idea. Now the general consensus is that Lady Toki is from the void century and she was also part of the ancient kingdom. If that was the case, her family may have been responsible for guarding the Toki Toki no mi. However, she was forced to use its power as a last resort. This was a back up plan used by the ancient kingdom to ensure that someone who knew the truth first-hand was available for a future fight with the World Government (WG). This means that Lady Toki's job was to pass on the truth of what happened as well as to instigate a rebellion against the WG. She first travelled to the future because the WG was winning against the ancient kingdom. So once she had travelled, she landed in a time when the WG had already been established and was in charge. She then tried to make allies and raise a rebellion against the WG but her attempts failed and she started to be hunted. This ended up forcing her to travel to the future again. This process kept on repeating itself until one day she got to Wano. She finally settled down in Wano since the country was isolated so the WG could not hunt her down anymore. At the same time, she met and fell in love with Oden. Since he had the idea to open up the borders of Wano, she could also use that to continue her mission. If Wano opened it's borders, they would stand out as a successful country that was not controlled by the WG. This means other countries could then follow their example and pull out from the WG thus weakening the influence of the WG. However, Kaido attacked and her new plan could not be fulfilled. Normally she would jump to the future but this time she already had a family and she couldn't abandon them. So instead, she sent Momo to the future so that he could continue his father's dynasty and act as the symbol that unites everyone in the fight against Kaido. Then she stayed being with Lady Hiyori and trained her with regards to the Toki Toki no mi and the responsibility that comes with it. After being satisfied, she then died and passed on the fruit to Lady Hiyori, who is now the new guardian of the fruit. I know the idea is a bit far fetched but I was laying it out there...

One important thing to note here: Knowledge. If Lady Toki is really from the void century, then she would most likely posses information regarding that time and while I know the Phone glyphs are a thing, she may have had something that would help to understand the current condition of the world.

i really like the idea that the toki toki no mi is still around and could be used to slow down / stop time. that would allow luffy and the others to get stronger in a "short" amount of time. they definitely need a training arc right now, because ... well... kaido

Id love it if the draw back to that power was that mentally the user perceives time passing at normal speed while the power is being used, but not comprehending that tell after the time leap. So instant Lovecraftian madnessLike wakeing up from a nap that felt waaaaay longer than it was. Stoping time or gaining bullet time perception would be fitting df awakening for it.

If “stopping” time is an option, I think of the Stasis ability in Breath of the Wild would be a similar aspect where you can stop a single person or thing for a fixed amount of time, but it does have to recharge in the same way it does in the game lol

you spoke about freezing time and pocket dimensions. now let's say someone could freeze time for all but herself and another person could create pocket dimensions. if you create a pocket dimension for all strawhats to enter, close it and time is frozen outside of the pocket dimension, then strawhats could train indefinitely for them, or at least as long as the timefreezer can freeze time for from her point of view. effectively mimicking what the hyperbolic timechamber does but without stealing from another show

I believe that the Toki-Toki fruit also has an ability similar to Katakuri's observation haki, but much more powerful. Lady Toki's "last words" were a prediction about nine shadows 20 years in the future, so perhaps the fruit can also accelerate someone's perception to a point in the future. (They would be completely out of it in the present, however. I do think that this would make sense, as Lady Toki wouldn't jump to a place where she knew enemies would be, and as such scouted it first.)
