Cool video. I have a question and this has always bothered me. If Stuart/Peter Sam and Falcon/Sir Handle were at the Mid Sodor at the same time as Stanley... why do they act as if they have not heard his story in Duke the Lost Engine? Falcon has been working the line several years by this point.

@@TaillampStudios I think it is a mistake on Awdrey's part but to be fair he had a lot of lore to work through. Another question, and maybe one for a future video? Can you talk about the engines that arrived in 1915?I've always wondered if Thomas and Edward arrived with this lot.

I think an answer could be that, while they had worked with Stanley at the time, they never did know what his fate was, ThunderbirdStudios made a movie of Duke The Lost Engine which used that as an explanation.

I have a theory that during Stanley’s time as an engine he and Duke were working on the line that ran from Arlesburgh to Arlesdale while Falcon and Stuart ran the line from Arlesdale Green to Peel Godred, which explains why they didn’t know him and when Stanley was turned into a pumping engine Falcon and Stuart were transferred to the Arlesburgh West-Arlesdale line with Duke while Albert Jim and Tim ran the Arlesdale Green-Peel Godred line

I have my own theories... considering a recent video from the Talyllyn revealing No.4 (Edward Thomas) didn't get her number until GWR days, Falcon was likely originally on trial with the MSR and Stanley officially pawned off there and then from the W.D, becoming No.2, leaving Falcon to become No.3 before Stuart's (No.4) delivery... furthermore I'm willing to hypothetically put forward that 3 further locos on trial, Gerry, John and Jennings were all engines 5, 6 and 7 respectfully for a short time before the arrival of freelance side tank locos Albert (No.5) and Jim (No.6) and before Tim (one of the original tram locos) inherited No.7... because as the good reverend said in his penultimate book... "Other engines came and went..."
