We really need a sequel for this one, Mario hasn't been a villain for a while, while Peach, Luigi and others had their moment in that spotlight. Another thing is I was watching Gaming Historian's channel and he got an unnoficial book about the Game & Watch line of video games and a lot of information is missing. Kinda wish Nintendo did a book on that, from their days as a card company, a toy company and a video game company not leaving anything behind, because it is interesting learning something new every day, especially if it's something as cool as the mini-arcades.

Oh snap! I still have this from when I was a kid :D I didn't think anybody else even knew of its existence. You guys just made my night! :D Also, yes, it is beautiful and awesome and fun. I wish mine was in better condition, but what can you expect with childhood toys? I didn't think of it as a collector's item to be preserved.. was just a fun game :p Everything on it still works, and I even recently fixed a problem it had had since like 1993 where the ACL or Alarm button was stuck and we didn't realize that... and so we had to pull out the batteries over and over and hope that one of the power cycles would boot it into the actual game instead of just playing the music and showing all the sprites at one time, lol. Finally in the late '00's or early '10's actually looked at the thing after finding it in a box and realized that it was that stuck button, so I got a paper clip and now it works perfectly :D I'm so happy, and the sounds of this game still gives me happy shivers... man.. you made my day, Rerez. Also WOW you guys did an awesome job capturing that screen. How did you do that? What kind of camera did you use? I've been wanting to capture decent screenshots of this game for years but just haven't gotten around to finding a good way to do it.

Just so you know - In Operation PBSuccess, the Democratic government of Guatemala was overthrown by the CIA in 1953 to protect the business intersts of the United Fruit Corporation - which you now know as Chiquita. To reiterate, a democracy was over-turned so that Chiquita could maintain their profits. An entire population was placed under despot rule, so the company that you now know as Chiquita, could maintain high margins on their profits - courtesy of the CIA and the US Federal government.

Gunpei Yokoi is the father of LCD games (and of course the Game Boy, Virtual Boy and Wonderswan). Several Game & Watch titles were million sellers, while the series caused others in Japan and elsewhere to produce their own. From Bandai and Tomy to Coleco and the infamous Tiger Electronics (who even created Furby). Even ones found in dollar stores and kids meals are much worse than Tiger ones. While Japan-made ones are usually better than ones made in America and other regions, at least ones by Nelsonic and Radica are usually great however.

I think my dad bought it from someone for $10.00 as well back around 1992. I have built several mame bartops over the last few years, but a project I have been wanting to do is build a larger size of this cabinet style and have that as my bartop arcade.

I had the panorama version, it's the exactly same game! - If you reach 300 points you'll recover all lives lost, and if you didn't lose any lives you'll get double points until you lose one; - Hitting multiple birds (up to 5) with one coconut gives you much more points than hitting one single bird with each coconut; - Points counter only goes up to 999, after that it cycles back to 000; - When you free Donkey Kong, it almost seems like he's chaining himself again, so he kind of puts out a masochistic vibe? It was always my goal to reach 999 without any lives lost, and keep going after that until I lost all lives, got tired and/or was somehow interrupted to do meaningless stuff, like... eating. Good ol' days with no pause and/or save states...
@randybradley41516 жыл бұрын
My friend had Donkey Kong Jr, Mario's Cement Factory and Popeye in the style mentioned in the video. He also had Pacman, Frogger, Galaxian, Donkey Kong and Monster Maze. I had Dracula and Galaxy 2. I would love to still have mine. My cousin gave them to me as a Christmas gift back in the 80's and I would play them all night until I dozed off. Mario's Cement Factory was one of my favs and I was glad that it was included in the Game and Watch Gallery 4 game for the GBA.

So Mario's girlfriend Pauline was kidnapped by Donkey Kong in the original game. Once Mario rescued her, they didn't live happily ever after. Mario was consumed with thoughts of vengeance. Mario kidnapped Donkey Kong... and tormented him relentlessly. Pauline got tired of being ignored and left. So I guess this game explains how that relationship fell apart.
