Kasrkin are the elites drawn from Cadian Shock Troops who are one of the best Imperial Guard Regiments in the Imperium. As elites, they have access to better gear. On table top the sergeant and up to 7 troopers can change up their gear.

They are stealthy by Ork standards. Traditional Ork tactics involve running at the enemy yelling at the top of your lungs. Kommandos are stealthy in that they can actually make it too or even behind enemy lines without being seen before they start yelling and hitting things. That being said Kommandos are also scary because they are capable of using tactics that most orks would consider un-orky, like clearing a room with a grenade or burna before entering.

That is pretty much exactly the plot. The bureaucracy of the imperium is so inefficient that it costs a world and the defenders on it due to lack of resources, all for a tithe that the imperium can’t even take because it has too much stuff stored up. Classic 40k administratum nonsense

If you like one of the options of miniatures available then it could be deemed worth it. Animation content is limited in its release schedule but not terrible. I think a lot of the people who deem in not worth it think it takes 5 minutes to knock up a decent animation and then complain it doesn’t fit their own narrative. I for one will potentially not renew next year as the miniatures available with subscription are not of any interest to me but it depends on the release schedule

Kasrkin are equipped with hot-shot lasguns (or variations of it), it can reliably punch through carapace and power armour and will usually one-shot most uglies.

I would expect veteran guards to fare reasonably well against orks, they are by far most common enemy for the guard its probably ~2/3 of all campaings are against orks. Orks should lose unless they have exceptional numerical advantage or having 300iq warboss in command, if guards was incapable of beating orks consistently on their own entire imperium would be just ork space by now.

They always did. I disagree with the pandering as much as the next guy but in a guard unit is one of the few places it isn't a problem. Guard dont have the resources to distinguish between genders. Can they hold a gun? cool, have they stayed alive longer than one deployment? They are probably some form of badass. I will agree the pendulum has swung a bit too far when you look at the fact that weve lost creed, kell, straken, pask and yarrick all to legends or death and in return weve gotten ursula. I honestly just hope they elevate one of the other characters from the books like bendikt to fill pasks old spot as super armor commander man. But if you look at the roster its still one female main character surrounded by leontas, harker, sly marbo, gaunts and his squadmates etc. IDK kinda just monologued to make me feel better.

dude, the average ork boy would dog on several guardsmen in melee, not only are they larger, much MUCH stronger, far more resilient to damage, have a longer reach but they also know how to fight and arn't as slow as most people would believe. Even catachan jungle fighters who are some of the best guardsmen in the galaxy have a rule where three catachans fight every one ork due to how dangerous they are in melee. In most instances, it is said by guardsmen that if the orks get into melee range then the fight is over. DONT U BE UNDEREZTIMATIN UZ AGAIN PINK SKIN GIT!

There was 2 female guardsmen They had to give up all their ammo, that was the whole plot for the episode. That's why they're fighting like that. Orks were dominating in melee except when outnumbered 5 to 1, or the Kasakrin using a power sword, or the extremely well trained Commissar

Yes they would. They ABSOLUTELY would! We have examples of this all across Warhammer lore dating all the way back to its dubious beginnings. The Sisters of Battle are an all female fighting force, one which dates back to like… 3rd edition I want to say? I know they existed before the necrons but I can’t remember when they entered their current iteration. 3rd or 5th. Imperial Guardsmen have had women within their ranks since back when their faction was actually called the Imperial Guard. Only War talks about how some regiments are gender specific (either all men or all women) while others are mixed, whether by design or just the whims of the Munitorum. Dark Heresy does talk on how plenty of planets in the Imperium do have sexism, but also make it clear that acolytes of either sex are common. (And since acolytes can be drawn from any part of the Imperium, ie. Guardsmen or Arbites, there more examples of it.) Ciaphis Cain is probably the most famous imperial guard character and he’s attached to a mixed gender regiment, he even comments on how occasionally he has to act as a midwife The Military would absolutely take women into its ranks (either volunteers if your planet is running a PR campaign, or kidnapped off the street in your world is in a bind and has to make the Tithe quickly). If you can carry your kit (Lasgun, four power packs, combat knife, laspistol, and the Flak Armor on your back) then congratulations you’re an Imperial guardsmen.

@@webvixdarklove7551 the first edition WH40k rulebook has an image of a proto adepta sororitas (woman in a nun's wimple and space marine power armour) and both Space marine games feature female Imperial Guard officers (admittedly the first game's officer looks like a supermodel in combat uniform while the second actually looks like she has seen a few battles and has the scars to show it)

Honestly depending on the regiment id assume either yeah they get a supply of birth control items (so the medics have something else to bargain with aside from Stim shots), or they just rely on the soldiers to be smart… and deal with the ones that aren’t. As for the hygiene products, it probably depends on the warzone. Do the soldiers get toilet paper? If not then they probably ain’t getting tampons either. Cramps might suck a bit but this is 40K, go to the medic, get him to give you a shot of Slaught, and forget who you are while you tear an Ork to shreds with your bare hands in the twenty seconds you have before every negative status condition ever is applied to you all at once
