Upgrading your units, actual strategy being involved when it came to combat, unlocking abilities, seeing world events unfold in real time with your victories/defeats (and who you defeated/lost to) having an effect. Even which faction you chose would cause a different experience towards world events. I even found the voice command system useful believe it or not. Focusing on one unit and its surroundings to order artillery strikes on non radar spotted enemies took up a lot of command time. But being able to simply say "Unit 3, move to alpha" or "calling all tanks, attack hostile 4" helped keep the ball rolling. I still play it from time to time.

Fun fact: the first Rainbow Six game were supposed to be developed alongside the book, but the game were finished already before the original book, the difference were on the later part of the book and the game so the endings and the continuation of the stories were parting away from another. So from there, the book universe (Also known as Ryanverse) were different to the game universe of the game, which it's actually also different to the first Ghost Recon universe.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 book was the first experience. Then after enjoying that book I ended up reading almost everything he directly wrote himself. Rainbow 6 Vegas was the first game I had experienced of Tom Clancy. After Vegas 2 came out, I played Ghost Recon: Future Soldier 1&2. I played Splinter Cell from borrowing from a friend, but never got into it much. Then the Division came out. Which was amazing. I then did Wildlands and fell in love with third person shooters as the preferred style of play. Then Breakpoint and Division 2. I switch back and forth weekly. They are just so good, and the stories are even better.

I personally think that _every_ Tom Clancy dystopia game, including The Division, has completely different timelines. It's just not possible for the US government to send military specialists, such as Rainbow, the Ghosts from Ghost Recon, or Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell, to other countries while being under siege by looters, rioters, and hostile factions, as seen in The Division 2. (And I say "every" since we don't know what the unreleased games are.) PS: I know that Rainbow 6 is a part of the even more popular Ryanverse, since the Rainbow 6 characters, including John Clark, are recurring characters in the Jack Ryan novels.

If you really want to get conspiratorial Far Cry 4, 5 and 6 all have references to Abstergo in them and the war at the end of 5 matches up with the beginning of Endwar and in New Dawn you can find references to Sam Fisher and the Division being activated right after the nukes dropped. Yara is also producing cancer curing poison to sell to the rest of the world. It's not confirmed or anything but if the writers at Ubisoft wanted to, it wouldn't be hard to officially connect everything and have it make sense. I for one think it would be hella funny if it turned out Huntley was working with a Ghost team and the reason Jason and Ajay and Rook were so inexplicably successful was because there were Ghosts doing the heavy lifting behind the scenes lol

Started with the OG R6 and the book behind it (im 39yr atm) :-) the first R6 games up to and incl R6: 3 is some of the best most immersive games ive ever played, kept on repeating those maps until I had a perfect score (one shot one kill, no team members down or hit). Dabbled with the first 2 GR games and GRAW, but then came back to the brand and fell totally in love with GRFS and GR:Phantoms. Played both Division games intensively up until Ubi kind of started to show the “new true colors” and started to become the brand they are now, with overpromising, cookiecutter and similar games, mostly dissapointing their OG core audience. Maybe because im getting to old for gaming, and I no longer belong into the “main target group”, but I long for a true “adult”-TC strategic hard and challenging game for the gamer wanting to be taken serious. Atm we dont have any game to turn to for a serious, demanding, strategic and tight story driven game focused toward the ever growing “mature”-gaming audience… Wildlands and now Breakpoint can now “sorta/kinda” be tuned into such an experience but not to a 100%

My first TC game was Rainbow Six Vegas. I played it at my local comic convention. I loved it so much that it was one of the first games I purchased for the 360 even when I did not have one. Once I got the 360 I picked up Advanced Warfighter 1 & 2 but loved 2 more. I then was glued to every announcement from Ubisoft for the next TC game. I picked up Vegas 2, and at that time I also discovered my love for the Ace Combat series and when I heard that H.A.W.X was coming out I was sold. While all this was going on I worked for at a Gamestop and was getting blasted with the new Splinter Cell game, Conviction. I thought it looked really cool and bought it as my first splinter cell game. I have been looking forward to whatever Ubisoft comes up with next but I primarily play single player games, or play solo so I am not too thrilled with these online only game modes or games. However I am starting to lose hope that we will see a return to the campaign mode of Rainbow, and I fear that Splinter Cell has been relegated as nothing more then abandonware at this point.

So far, I think the shared Clancyverse only interests Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, and HAWX (we've had multiple crossovers and crossreferences between Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell and Rainbow Six, and HAWX was born, as you said, to support Ghost Recons). EndWar was an alternate history situation that branches off from the R6/GR Clancyverse, but given that the game ends with nuclear annihilation of either factions (and that the Rainbow and Ghosts end up being on opposite fronts and thus one or the other gets annihilated even before GR:Breakpoint is supposed to happen), I'd say it's meant to be a separate road to explore the RTS possibilities of a East-West conflict within the Tom Clancy franchise, probably inspired by Clancy's books like "The Bear and the Dragon" or "Red Storm Rising". As for The Division, that's an entirely different Universe, and in fact the game basically has no other Clancyverse references (except for small easter eggs) and is not referenced in any other Tom Clancy games (except for some promotional skins for guns and gear in Ghost Recon Wildlands).

I love your videos with facts and theories. I have one for you and I would love to hear your thoughts on it: What if Hitman (2016 series) and Ghost Recon (Wildlands & Breakpoint) are set in the same universe? I speculate Diana Burnwood and Karen Bowman are the same person. They are both voiced by the same actress. Their jobs are basically the same - espionage - collate intel from around the world and provide target information to an assassin (Agent 47) or to a squad (Ghost Team). We know the name 'Karen' is an alias. We have heard Sam Fisher call her 'Linda'. Maybe 'Diana' is also an alias. Diana and Karen may look a little different but maybe she is a master of disguise. Finally, In GR:Wildlands mission Operation Archangel, when Ghost Team is searching for Caveira's brother in an apartment, we see a suit very similar to what Hitman wears. This is an easter egg but it only adds fuel this speculation.

L have r6, ghost recon bold and the devision 1,2 and l can say that l am feeling little creeps and real excitement from knowing that they are only one virus and island from nomad(leader of ghost recon) joining the devision if there is outbreak of virus or joining r6 if it needs to. Or how Saw Fisher could be one of the devision agents or even how the whole r6 teams to be fighting in the devision timeline and we just still to not know it

The division does not tie into the Clancy universe timeline, The division takes place in its own timeline.

Isn't Team Rainbow a Nato force? Not US only? Or am I missing something? I mean that explains the soldiers nations.

I’ve been playing Tom Clancy games since the originals way back and I can’t say I’m happy where Ubisoft has taken the R6 and Ghost Recon franchises. I wish Red Storm would be key decision makers as they know or knew best. Now, its just a fancy word they that’s used for marketing. Maybe GR:Breakpoint drastic change since launch could be almost a turnaround but we’ll see. R6 is just not what it should be. R6: Vegas 1 & 2 were the best but umm I may be biased. SC is no show and that should be a more linear story-driven game. ;-) I only care about R^, GR, SC, and TD as they respect the Tom Clancy name…. Well more or less.

Well, since it's YouBuySoft and not anyone who actually understands Tom Clancy's works that's writing these stories, I'm constantly pretty underwhelmed
