I miss this Tom Green. It's kind of sad that as an older man he seems to regret almost all of his best bits.

You gotta remember at this time Tom Green was the top guy at MTV around this time. His show was really popular. This was like a year or 2 before jackass premiered I think. I remember watching this episode when it premiered. I was like 11. I makes me miss the 90s so much I wanna cry so bad.
@blakfloyd4 жыл бұрын
Yeah. Tom was basically the only successful comedy programming MTV had during the time period starting when Beavis and Butthead got canceled until the debut of Jackass. Daria was a good show and had plenty of funny moments but its focus was on cerebral comedy and making the viewer appreciate the quality of writing. There was a good year or so where MTV couldn't get their shit together when it came to providing fun, dumb, carefree laughs. Tom sure as shit breathed much needed life into that gap in their programming.

@@3941602 Well Tom Green wasn't making shows, MTV needed content so they got the CKY guys and paired them with Johnny Knoxville, hence, Jackass. It was born out of TG's cancer recovery.

@blakfloyd4 жыл бұрын
Same here. I might've come around a few years before you but I blame it on how society basically brainwashes us to like specific body types and just because she's a few pounds heavier than what we see in magazines we're conditioned to not like body types like hers.
@timkinney87194 жыл бұрын
She's also a really awesome person. Not that I know her or anything, but from what I've seen of her in the media, both then and now, she's a class act. Her interview with John Oliver is great.

The most random, absurd and pointless special ever. There's no reason this should exist, but I'm glad that it does. It also humanizes Monica, who was the victim of a scummy middle aged politician that took advantage of a young girl while the corrupt media treated Bill like he was the victim. It also feels like Tom and Monica had some chemistry.

STEPS FOR A COMEDY SPECIAL 1) Take a figure embroiled in a seriously large scandal 2) Bring them around to your friend's houses to steal their bedding etc. 3) Buy them Coffee 4) Bring them on Public Access TV & watch them get embarrassed even more than they have seemed on national TV 5) Rile up your Alma Mater w/ the power of Celebrity 6) drink Cristal at a classy restaurant in khaki cargo pants 7) watch your parents and the well-known figure bond 8) milk every ounce of entertainment out of household net while distracting your guest who is trying to work 9) Go on the roof of the tiniest restaurant in the area and make an overblown announcement & VOILA! this is funny and sweet in it's own way (noting how the show titles match his handscrawl on the Tag next to Monica's logo). didn't see it for the genius it was when I was a kid.
