I actually really liked the little interaction between the two actors when they're deciding which way to go. They have an entire conversation, considering and rejecting options, realizing that they're trapped, and then the little "Oh, well, okay here we go" from the Colonel that just feels so real. imagine if they actually designed their lab "base" like an actual defensive structure instead of an open climbing frame replete with cover, handholds and areas from which random aliens can jump onto unsuspecting defenders. even a simple layer of sheet-metal would have helped enormously in terms of setting up a kill-zone to focus the firepower into rather than a death-trap where every defender is shooting from an open balcony over a massive drop into the water. Or you know, use a tanker or something similar (aircraft carrier/battleship ideally) so it's more sealed up, better armed, probably nuclear powered and mobile but big enough to do anything you need of it. also, if you got what you needed, explode the queen with a bomb-collar or something.

@Toasty_Britches3 жыл бұрын
@@alexandermendeyev35 oh yeah, a battle rifle like a SCAR in 7.62 would be a massive upgrade. The doctrine influences that contributed to the adoption of 5.56 are mostly absent in this universe, shifting to the mindset of taking down big game would be a much wiser choice. The only in-universe justification for using 5.56 I can think of is using the existing stockpiles of NATO armaments in the face of a world ending apocalypse where you can't make more of something. But then, soviet stockpiles of 7.62 are even more prevalent, but at the same time they're probably nestled in areas more immediately hit by the white spikes. Fun stuff to think about.

One thing I don't understand about movies with guns that forget that weapons need to reload. The creators of these movies do realise that if they want their characters to be able to fire longer without having to reload they could either A, use extended/drum mags, or B, use the LMG's that have an insane ammo count, right? I get the LMG's would take longer to reload, but it would make more sense for in-between scene reloading with an LMG if the payoff was their characters firing their guns longer without having to reload with a weapon that makes sense to do so.

I doubt you can understand, but those chains were thicker than even 5/8in grade 120 chains, the strongest on the market with a max load capacity of 14 tons. Since the chains in the movie are much thicker it would take a bite force close to 10 adult male saltwater croc’s with the greatest bite force on Earth of 3,700 lbs, or to make it easier for your tiny brain; a bite equal to the weight of at least 3 adult male African elephants to even come close to breaking chains that thick.

@@GossAug What? I didn't literally say _id est_ but I did give 2 common examples. Are you asking what a "4 bore stopping rifle" is? Because that is a hunting rifle, usually 2 barrel, 4 bore means that 4 spheres the size of the barrel bore (caliber) can be made out of a pound of lead. (same thing as gauge with shotguns)
@whyjnot4203 жыл бұрын
@@GossAug Wrong, you are thinking of "assault weapon" not "assault rifle". Assault rifle refers specifically to intermediate cartridge, select fire rifles & carbines. "Assault weapon" on the other hand, is the term you are claiming assault rifle to be. It is the one used by idiotic politicians. While there is no perfect accepted definition of assault rifle that everyone and their mother will accept, those 2 characteristics are ubiquitous. Sometimes you might find an exception such as something with sub-machinegun ammo but built with a system more meant for intermediate cartridges, but those are as I said, the exception. Now all that said I have to ask..... what in the hell was your point? Not only were you flat out wrong, you deliberately tried to instigate a 2A conversation/argument in the wrong place. You know, if you are going to try and start an argument, you should at the very least get those 2 things right or else everyone will think exactly as I do, that you are immature and uneducated. "What is this assault rifle........." and then later claim to be confused( esp. when I gave 2 precise examples)? Don't insult my intelligence... you knew exactly what you were trying to start. I also knew what you were trying.... but I gave you an out to use so that you wouldn't look like a moron. Though you either failed to see it, or ignored it. Good day to you sir. addendum: Your arguments are based completely on nomenclature and not on actual physical description. "They call it this because they call it this" is all you are essentially saying. This is called begging the question, or circular reasoning, and is a literal logical fallacy.

In the full scene there were actually lots of missiles fired at the start of the battle. But yeah I 100% do agree with your comment. This movie was way too ambitious for what its budget allowed, it either needed way more set design or CGI. Miami had cars from 2015, the army was using humvees and black hawks. They were using stealth fighters like the F-22 to do bombing runs, makes literally zero sense to do that against an enemy that doesn't air forces beyond gliders from cliffs. One of the best things about en enemy like this is we could just mass produce efficient drones that are operated without fear of electronic warfare(literally the ONLY barrier from mass adoption right now and the only reason Western countries have been producing piloted fighter aircraft for the last 15 years).

Imagine a large multiplayer video game based on this. Focusing on making the Whitespike AI and animation top tier would be number one. Imagine 100 players spawning into a city map and there are different units, some are civilians who need to find salvation though found weapons or other players who are soldiers there to save them. Other players could be armored units or even air support kind of like what we saw in the beginning. That would be a sort of search and rescue type gamemode similar to SCP Secret Laboratory. Then you could also have a survival gamemode with 100 players as well, mimicking this Deepswell Base defense. Maybe you could allow players to play as Whitespikes and have versus modes?
