Mate, this band are incredible. I'm 50 years old and these guys blow me away. They have released close to 30 albums in the last 12 years and tour relentlessly. They always try and do different genres and ideas with most of the albums too ranging from prog jazz to thrash metal to indie funk and everything in between. I'm not one of those 50 year olds who say new ( or more recent by my age) music is crap. I embrace it. These guys are fecking brilliant! If you like these, check out another similar Aussie band called the Psychedelic Porn Crumpets. I saw them live recently in Exeter. They were so damn good!

You should just do a total 180 and do Catching smoke by them next. Definitely my favorite band. Every album is a different genre with a different concept, they're an absolute gold mine for reactors if you can get into them. Can't wait to see more!

The song jumps time signatures a few times. Their song "Crumbling Castle" changes time signatures like 30 times and it's... like 10 minutes long. They're astounding songwriters

I recommend you a lot Motor Spirit, it's from the same album and it's a total experience my friend. So, they have 3 guitarist if you see it in that way but actually they're all multi-instrumentalist and the instruments they play in each song vary a lot

I don't think there are 4 guitars in the track, they jist gave Ambrose one so he had something to do in the video. They're all multi-instrumentalists and they switch around from track to track. For instance, on the video for "Catching Smoke" they've got 4 guys on keyboard/piano/organ. And that's a completely different genre.

If you like something different, then King Gizz is going to blow your mind. 20 plus albums in 10 years, all of them different from the last. I suggest something like Catching Smoke form them for a completely different sot of sound than Dragon. They are amazing.

Every song is a journey. Try the KEXP live version of Iron Lung. Or a live version of The River (the longer the version, the better. They get up to 20 minutes and take on Pink Floyd Animals dimensions) Although I prefer their metal stuff, they rock out better than just about any band around.

Best band ever might be stretch. There's so many bands that in their prime were astonishing. For me the honor of best band ever still goes to Zappa's band round 1971-73 ish. When George Duke said that band could play anything in a 90s interview I don't think he was overly exaggerating. What I think I can say about Gizz with some confidence though, is that if you have a broad love of music you can't help but rank these guys in the top 3 most interesting bands that are making music right now. That by itself is an incredible achievement, and some of the highest praise possible. They are certainly my favourite active band right now by a LONG shot! A lot of the best bands ever are either: - (Partly) passed away - Making new stuff that's usually inferior to their old stuff - Just touring occasionally playing their old classics

I think this is their only prog song ,they are a stoner/psyhodelic band ,on this album they went trash/heavy metal and Dragon is a good song but experimental, u should choose as first listen Gila monster which is their single from same album as Dragon

@@coingrinder7338 prog? Or specifically prog metal? If just straight up prog rock then the Polygondwanaland album, Laminated Denim album, most of the Ice Death album, and a bunch more songs from other albums. Butterfly 3000 isn't exactly prog rock but definitely progy.
