This is what people did before the internet and cell phones. You watched Johnny Carson after you watched the local news at night. This brings back such powerful memories of listening to it as a kid growing up in the 80’s and when I was visiting my grandparents.

Johnny Carson, Ed McMahan, and Doc Severensen. The best team ever in late night television. I’m 74 and saw four Burbank shows in person and while on a tour got to meet Johnny arriving to work. I still consider it the greatest moment of seeing a Superstar in my life. A class act. Thank You Johnny. ✝️

In 2016 University of Evansville brought Doc Severson in for a week to help the music department and he had a public concert. He had questions at the end of the concert and did a meet and greet with the public. He was the first celebrity my daughter has met. He was very nice and friendly. Doc still plays 5 to six hours a day. He said he has not watched late night shows since the last Johnny Carson Tonight show.

Johnny Carson was the best late night talk show host ever! I just loved him, and my mom wouldn't miss his show. He was hysterical and even his dry humor had you rolling. I felt so bad when he died. I did watch his last episode when he retired, and it just made me so sad to see him go. It was like losing a family member. He was addicting that's for sure. He was so quick witted too. Just an amazing man. I hope he is resting in peace. I sure did love him. Btw, he looked so much like my dad too, maybe that's why I love him so much. RIP Johnny. Forever loved and eternally missed♥💐

Nice to see this... I've wondered where in Malibu he lived... as it was mentioned several times on the show -- by others --- that he lived in Malibu. I'd imagined he was right on the beach, so this is different than my imagination, but good to see. And even today, witth is shows on KZbin, we can watch and STILL be entertained by his conversational style. Johnny was GREAT. A part of America in the 60s-90s.
