One thing that shows why this album is so great: If you look at the liner notes, it says it was produced, written, and all instruments and background vocals were performed by Tony Rich. Truly his masterpiece, and something you almost never see today

@jamerebess54545 жыл бұрын
I saw him perform at a Tony Braxton and Babyface concert. This was recent He has new songs and still got a great voice. Back then in the 90s R&B up in comers that wrote there own songs and paid for studio time and got a chance with a $1500 low budget videos they was considered a project. That's why his name was "THE TONY RICH PROJECT". He was great but in the music industry back then you had to be STARVING.

This is when R&B was real! Out of a 100 songs today that claim to be R&B, maybe 1 or 2 would be close to being this good. The days of Tony Rich, Baby Face, Smoothe Silk, and others are all but gone, except for a very few. Right at the top of that list of current artists is Maxwell. His lyrics, music and the emotione he injects into his music stands right along side these greats of the 90's. Don't believe me? Check out, "Pretty Wings", "Sumthin Sumthin".

This particular viewing of this great song has 50,000 views. When I watched this on KZbin years ago, it had a few hundred thousand views. This is one of the greatest R&B songs that came out of the 90's. I bought this album a couple of weeks after it was released. Tony Rich is in a category far greater than AZ YET. To me, he is the Smokey Robinson of my generation; and was hardly underrated, rather, respected and admired by his peers and fans alike. True though that there are none like this..
