Usually an extra battery and upgraded one up front is fine for something
@derekgardin151210 ай бұрын
Most stock electrical will be fine under 1500 watts total. I've ran plenty of systems 900-1500 total (400 RMS on doors and 500-1000RMS on sub) and have been fine. Done it on many different vehicles. As long as you have a decent battery and don't play it when the car isn't running you'll be fine. My stereo would kill my battery inside 2 songs if the car was off.
@Kyle-j7k2u10 ай бұрын
If you're running a true 1000 watt rms like a JL 1000/1 you will need a small secondary battery and a big 3 won't hurt. You will most likely notice the headlights dimming

Great advice! You should mention some companies such as rockville tend to use "rms" incorrectly. At least they include the "cea" rating, which is the actual "rms" in this case. And often companies don't include the rms and only the peak power handling hoping that you'll come to the conclusion that it's half of what the peak is. Don't take the bait! If they can't tell you the rms you should try to stay away from them.

I get it. Using the gain to compensate for under power is not a good thing. Leaving the gain alone, or setting properly on a system with a large wattage sub paired with a smaller RMS amp channel.

I always overkill when it comes to my systems.....and the bolt that goes thru ur seat belt latch goes straight into the frame so it is a good ground but u need to do a little bit of wire brushing....but it is only good for 5000 or less watts any more then I would pry just go under the car and go straight to the frame

I’m more into SQ than SP, and my gear to install is Stereo Integrity 6.5”mkiii’s, 3” Carbon’s in pods on dash, focal tweets, Focal 6.5” in rear doors, I may find room to install a couple 5” Mids in rear for surround, AVIN HU>Audison DSP>80 Amp Gladen 4x120 & 5 (4X90 + 1 350 @4ohm to 2 ohm) w 0AWG to dual fuse 4AWG, w/175 Amp Terminal Fuse. I’ll be spraying some Cascade VBX1 dampener in the doors and possibly the floors, Arches etc. I’m thinking of getting a separate battery to mount in the trunk next to the Main Battery with NSX Isolator/fuse to Batt. So I have 2 Q’s-1. The only speaker I’m not replacing is the Sub, which is an open Dual Coil in the rear deck. I think it’s 2 x 4ohm wired in parallel due to the onboard Amp feeding 2 Ohm speakers throughout the car. As such, if I feed it with 350W@4-2 Ohm, assuming the amp will adjust to the appropriate OHM, will I be overpowering it or doing damage to my 5 Channel Amp? Is there a way to test? 2. How small/big 2nd Battery should I get to power this setup?
@NextLevelCarAudio2 жыл бұрын
It sings like you will be okay 👌 remember, if you are pushing out more power than you need you can always compensate by reducing your gains on your amp. Arc that power level, probably just getting a really good under hood battery with big-3 upgrade would suffice

I have a 12" Alpine with dual 2 ohm voice coils and an alpine 500w class D monoblock amp. Sub is rated for 300w RMS 900w Peak. I should be fine to wire the voice coils in parallel?

If your amp is 1 ohm stable. Google the specs of your amp

I have a orion xtr 2500 with 4 orion xtr pro 12 wired at 1 ohm, 200 amp alternator ,ran 4/0 for power and ground also have a run of 1/0, the ground is bolted to the chassis, big 4, northstar agm up front and a group 31 agm in the back, yet I still get huge voltage drop the music starts sputtering and shuts off at times. Any idea? Maybe bigger alternator?
@NextLevelCarAudio3 жыл бұрын
Do you still drop off voltage if you rev up the engine during the music playing? If voltage drop reduces or disappears then yes, you need more alt power. Goal is to have enough alternator power where you don’t drop more than a volt full tilt at idle.

I have the grey kx1200.1 . I want 2 subs for this amp What rms/ohm should I get each ?for it's full potential Since there will be 2. Thanks my man. I'm getting American bass subs. Subscribing
@NextLevelCarAudio3 жыл бұрын
I believe that amp is 1200 watts x 1 rms. So you want subs that are close to 1000 watts combined. So 500 watts each. 500 watt rms Dual 4 ohm voice coil or 500 watt rms single 2 ohm voice coil will get you what you’re looking for. A 1000 watt total load at 1 ohm.

Ok so im doing research before I start my first build …you said power and audio on opposing sides, I was wanting to run my power by the driver door and my audio down the center is this far enough apart or should I route it through the passenger side, I do intend on putting 2-4 LiFePO4 batteries from the truck bed (in a toolbox w/a dc-dc charger and a few other goodies in there) and run that wire up through the driver side to the amps still same setup for audio wire
@Janatheus74977 ай бұрын
Im still unsure on where I want the amps I do want a good air flow from the ac to them because I have seen overheat and pop

Grounding! If you have a unibody car(no frame) then You should be able to ground at the seat mount bolt, as long as you clean the surface free of paint.

I just stumbled on this video.. I have 2011 Nissan Altima, it has high mileage...I bought a Bose radio/cd player this spring off of eBay..the radio matches my car..I got my radio from UPS..and I got my money back, I found out from the dealership that I need an amplifier so the radio can work properly, I’ve been trying to find an amplifier and etc.. and I don’t won’t to spend too much money on my car, because it’s an older model Altima, want kind of stereo system/ speakers do you recommend that won’t break the bank
@NextLevelCarAudio3 жыл бұрын
You can factory integrate into your existing head unit. No problem. I’d get a good set of components. (Woofer,tweeter,crossover) for your front doors, and an amp to power them. Then a subwoofer and amp for your trunk. Size/power depending on how hard you want to bump

I don’t know if I have everything down. I would like if you could give me some insight to help me make sure I’m on the right path to make my first build special. Kinda a budget build.

What person in their right mind would put a 10 kW amplifier in their CAR?? Even 5 kW is way too much. Or are they deaf? I might do 2 kW but 1 kW is probably more than enough. My home stereo isn't anywhere near 1 kW and I hear it just fine. Save your money by putting in a reasonable audio system.

Same reason people put 1000hp engines into cars. For show, race, competition. Car Audio is a huge arena for people that are into it like that. Just because you don’t participate or understand our world does not mean it does not exist.
