Diesel 10 and Flying Scotsman could be a challenge for Bachmann to produce. And with Duncan listed as “cancelled” by Bachmann and TrainWorld, I’d say they’ll likely re announce him with Douglass shape design for the Bachmann 2025 catalogue.

Bachmann has said in the past that they would love to make characters like Stepney and Boco. Unfortunately they are only allowed to characters from recent seasons or those who have appeared in CGI. Don't appear in CGI? Doesn't get made. And Diesel 10 sadly breaks the rules of model railways as engines have to be a certain height depending on the range in order to be sold and all that. Diesel 10 breaks said rule due to his claw Edit: Forgot to add this. Scotsman could be made, however I have a feeling it would be just a modified Gordon if it were to be made

Also, D10's claw mechanics have to be inside with his eye mechanism and his chassis. In gauge 1, that was accomplished no problem, but HO is *much* smaller.

Correction on Diesel 10. Doug says that the NMRA don't care about the Thomas line. Though Pinchy is still the problem due to the cost.

Diesel 10 and Harvey could happen since Bachmann has gotten away with non-NMRA compliant Thomas products in the past. Stepney, BoCo, Derek, Lady, Splatter, Dodge, Den, Dart, and Rocky would sell like crazy. I'd be on board for Whiff and Hiro. For road characters, they should do Trevor, Caroline, and George.

All model series characters that aren’t in the cgi series or aren’t released yet won’t be made. Bachmann said that themselves. Oh, and Flying Scotsman won’t be released because he’s a real engine and they would need a license for him. So, all of this except Den and Dart have a very slim chance of ever being announced. Oh, but Diesel 10, he doesn’t conform to NMRA standards because of the added height of the claw so that’s impossible.

Well the spiteful brakevan was easy to make because it’s just reused tooling. Mattel does not want to allow Bachmann to invest in making new tooling for a big diesel who hasn’t appeared since the show’s golden age.

They could totally make Diesel 10 and make the claw moveable, but make it like a 3D printed accessory that comes separately in the box next to the model of him. That way you can just kinda pop it on or off of his cab roof whenever you want to use it, or to have a story where it gets removed, or to just make it run on normal clearance track without constantly getting clipped by the ceilings of tunnels or those stairs that go across and above the tracks. All in all, Bachmann would make a killing off of just Stepney, but if they wanted to cement their legacy, adding Stepney, Diesel 10, and Lady to the roster would make them sell out faster than ever before. They're already going in the proper direction with new releases like the tar barrel flatbed cars, since we didn't get a lot of flatbed stuff, but I would also like to see them rerelease the well wagons again, or at least make all of their previous models have parts listed on their website, so if you wanted to put the models together yourself from their parts you can by making them to order via buying individual shells or motors. I say 'add all their older model parts to the store' because I got my well wagon right about the time they stopped making it and discontinued the product from their range. However, at the time I was unaware of this and somewhere between me not being into model trains for a while and then getting back into it now that I'm a bit older, my well wagon lost one of its couplers, as well as took some cosmetic damage in its time of isolation at the bottom of the model train bin. Since its couplers are completely unique to itself (as far as I'm aware), I can't just simply buy a replacement coupler for it without some modifications to the already incredibly hard to get rare wagon. At this point it basically functions as nothing more than a camera car and I have yet to get a camera that's the right size for it to properly function. I have a thin-ish camera but the only issue is that the lens is on the side, meaning it can only get views from the trackside not the line ahead or behind itself, and putting it facing forward means it's not centered in the well and sticks out horribly for an incoming train to hit it.

Dang I typed up a huge comment and then YT glitched and didn't post it😭I'll try to recreate the main points Good list, I'd buy literally all of these besides maybe Den and Dart... who are the ones we're most likely to get. I tried to make my own list of characters that could realistically be made, but there's basically no standard gauge CGI characters [that people care about] left besides Diesel 10 and Hiro. I'm convinced we'll get Hiro in the near future, and I'm sure they'll to a really good job with him... but then what? If they're not allowed to do Diesel 10 due to loading gauge then who are we going to get? F-cking Bash and Dash? I kinda hope that Mattel realizes that Bachmann is running out of CGI characters and lets them start going back to the classic series. Also I think it'd be really funny if they repainted Rheneas as Smudger... but Dolgoch would be nice too.

Murdoch, Arthur, BoCo, D261, Stepney, the box tanks, and Splodge aren’t relevant to the CGI series, so probably wouldn’t be doable, even if Murdoch had Stepney would provide a good alternative to the overpriced tat that is the Hornby variants, maybe someone should bring this up to Bachmann and see if they can reason with Mattel… Diesel 10 wouldn’t be doable, Pinchy would make him too tall for NMRA standards Realistically, Scotsman, Den and Dart would be the only ones Bachman could make, they’re CGI characters so Mattel would allow it, and they’d fall within NMRA standards so they’d be able to produce them without worries of breaking the specifications

Let's be honest with ourselves. Bachmann are just gonna go with Charlie or Philip next. I love this video though. I would KILL to see Diesel 10 or Arthur in the Bachmann HO scale range. They'll never go for classic series characters, and they'll never touch Railway Series characters with a 10 foot pole. Such a shame that they shoot themselves in the foot like that.

Oh dude 100%. Being realistic... I obviously know none of these characters will be made besides maybeee Den and Dart. It's fun to dream though! I would like Phillip though! He'd be clean shunting a long line of vans on a layout. It is a shame, another example of Mattel managing the brand WRONG. Thanks for watching. 🩷🙌
