There’s one thing that every esports fan can appreciate: The comeback.
There’s really nothing like it. Comebacks are everything we love about competition. The impossible odds, the incredible skill, the sheer, unadulterated hype.
But not all comebacks are created equal. Which is why we decided to rank the Top 10, taking into account how hard the comeback was, how much it mattered in the grand scheme of the tournament, and how crazy it was to watch.
Here are the Top 10 Comebacks in esports history.

IceSun That’s what I hate about their/these types of lists. They always claim to have the top ten lists of whatever topic, BUT they should really make the title “OUR TOP TEN MOMENTS” rather than the definitive “THE top moments”, because of they’re gonna claim to be THE top, they’d include some actual metric that they gained their results like user polls, ranked by votes, popularity on youtube, etc. but naw fam, these KZbin channels always pull this type of shit and it’s so infuriating that channels always try to bait people into thinking their list is one with some actual credentials, rather than their own biased personal shit lol

100% agree. It's imho, the most iconic moment in esports, as well as a legitimately ridiculous mechanical feat. As an added bonus, the sound queues which most people use to actually time to parries was drowned out by the crowd, so it was pure muscle memory during a completely do or die moment, at fighting games biggest event.

assuming they'd want views I'd assume that siege is the most interresting game to put into a video ?
@virtzs
@virtzs 4 жыл бұрын
Same. I came thinking that'd definitely be in the video. Penta was down 2 maps to the previous Six Invitational champions, EG, in a best of 5. Penta went backstage, had some very real conversations, hyped each other up, and came back to the third map with a vengeance and went to work. They won Kafe 5-3 and Bank 5-2. On the final map, Coastline, they ended up in overtime. They went up by one round and with everything on the line and in order to not fall back into overtime again, they had to the next round. In that next round, Pengu was put into a 2v1 and clutched it to win the Six Invitational, put Penta/G2 on their legendary streak of wins, and seal one of the greatest R6 matches and comebacks I've ever seen. It was a much bigger comeback and clutch than most of the clips in the video. R6 maps usually take anywhere from 35-55 minutes, so it wasn't a small comeback to win 2 maps to bring it even, and then finish off the last one the way it was finished. They really had to keep the ball rolling to achieve what they achieved. It's really a shame it wasn't in this video. A huge misstep. EDIT: Changed matches to maps, as that's what I meant when referring to the 35-55 minutes.

that team is known to be not the best players when u think about them individually but a beast as a team. notail the coach was left behind by his bestfriend(exteammate) for another team, Topson the midlane player it is his first time playing at a tournament that large, Ceb a former player that went coaching since he had rough times winning games before and played again, ana a teenager that suffered sadness because of the mean critism viewers expressed when they failed a tournament before and took a break of joining tournaments but played again, and I heard jerax also suffered from depression before (not sure tho). won ti8 (11.2m dollars) and won ti9 the next year (15.6m dollars). I can explain if you want. This was the Last round daigo (ken) was in cheap range, that mean any special could ko him on block on the other hand justin was with his chun-li, she has one of the best SA in the game, it is 17 hit and could Killing daigo bcs it is a spécial move. However, Daigo spaced himself to bait him to SA. Here is a thing, in this game, there is the parry système, by pressing forward, when the opponent is about to hit, you can parry the hit, and it gives you advantage and you can counter him and it gives you more meter. What is incredible here is that he managed to parry successfully all 17hits and manage to input the perfect combo to kill. The evo 37 moment is a display of skill, mental management, and intelligence in an environment where players play beside each other with the crowd. He managed to do that while the opponent tried to deconcentrated him,and the crowd was shouting at him. Absolutely incredible.

Yeah as crazy as OG's TI8 run was, it's hardly worthy of a best comeback tag. The only remotely "comeback" thing about it was g4 of the finals but even that was partially because of a bug in the game at the time which made Ame's morphling significantly weaker than he should've been (you didn't get stats properly when leveling up whilst morphed). EG vs Ehome is a more fair representation if so. I could also throw in this one hilarious decider game between RNG and TFT from Dreamleague season 10 in 2018 where they came back from a 0% win chance according to Dota Plus lol

@@akaashthelast1403 What happened was a very difficult task of reaction and muscle memory to make a comeback. What Daigo did was parry Justin Wong's super which required multiple perfect timings of input. This is normally very difficult to do, but Daigo did this in a high pressure situation with the crowd yelling. Sound queues help with many things such as parrying in this game. There aren't many people who can parry that attack that play this game, so what Daigo did in that situation was incredible. Fast forward to the later years, when Street Fighter 4 came out, many new players would see this video of Daigo's comeback and pique their interest which helped the Fighting Game scene grow. Daigo is an inspiration to many, including other pro players. I wouldn't say to the other comment saying this moment prevented the scene from dying but it definitely helped it grow during SF3 and SF4's time and probably even now during SF5's time. The genre was dying because not many fighting games were coming out(There was Tekken 6 but not everyone is interested in it and it was already 2 years old at that time.) until SF4 came out and it revived the genre of fighting games.

@@akaashthelast1403 he basically did what my dude said above. In order to parry a single move you gotta press the forward motion in a really short time window before the move hits to do so And if he would've blocked the move he would've died because the blocker takes minor damage (chip damage) and since he had a pixel of health left he would've died. And parrying several hits in consistant order needs frame perfect execution Plus the combo he pulled off at the end was hard to do by itself And Daigo literally played perfectly for 6 seconds Even tho the other player (Justin Wong) Was mashing the hell out of his buttons desperately to distract Daigo Evo moment 37 made me have a different prespective about fighting games I played fighting games before i watch this moment But this moment made me improve upon my skills so i can do such cool stuff in other fighting games This moment inspired many people to play fighting games competetively or just for pulling off cool moments like this (for example Maximilian Dood who has a youtube channel dedicated to fighting games was inspired by this moment which made him play Street Fighter 3rd strike until this day)

Evo moment #37 is one of the PRIME definitions of Impossible. Daigo is on chip death. Any special move that daughter wasn't prepared to parry or couldn't parry he was dead. Plus Chun-Li had on of the fastest supers in 3rd Strike. If you didn't see it or anticipate it, you got hit or dealt a good amount if chip. Daigo knew Justin would try a super since it was so fast, so he waited and the moment the super activated, Daigo had a small second to input a parry at the right moment and he had enough game knowledge to know her range and he pulled off the most impossible Hype and Stylish comebacks in gaming history.

Nigma vs Alliance back in 2020 deserves to be on this list if there happens to be a part 2 of this. The throne was literally one hit away to be destroyed but Miracle just happens to rise under the pressure to create the arguably the best ever throne defense in dota 2 history. Nigma was behind by 18k in net worth and the throne was exposed. All five alliance players are alive to hit the throne, everybody's hitting it to the point that it was only a single hit away but miracle played bonkers with arc warden. He was killing the enemy while he's defending the throne, his micro skills was on full display that time. I remember watching it and the caster even cussed on livestream, that's fucking nuts. Then they proceed to win the game. If you're curious about this, look up: Nigma vs Alliance, insane throne comeback.
