I think Princess Margaret’s dress has stood the test of time. It’s so elegant and doesn’t look dated in the least. The Christian Dior dress with long sleeves and high neck (I think the young lady was called Miranda, she had a bouquet of Lily of the Valley) that dress was stunning! This idea some brides have of wearing what is essentially a lacy corset, it’s underwear in plain English. It will date, and 30 years down the road, you’ll look at the pictures and wonder “What was I thinking?” Like those 80’s hairstyles! 😁 Yikes!

The best wedding dress I ever saw was Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music. But my favorite dress is my own, hand made by a German seamstress in Baltimore, Maryland. The only difference is I didn't spend a fortune yet looked every bit as stunning as any celebrity or princess.

Miranda was lovely. Too bad we were not shown Carolyn Besette's gown when she married JFK, Jr. She proved the idea of less is more perfectly. Diana's gown was awful (even she later said) . Too much of everything..mutton sleeve, ruffles, and that long train. This is was the first wedding gown the designers ever did. They didn't realize the material would wrinkle so badly after Diana being stuffed into that tiny carriage,

Diana Spencer's dress looked like a wrinkled, poufed out comforter that wore her instead of vice versa...and the flower bouquet like something a heavily pregnant bride would carry to hide her humongous "bump".

I remember hearing how a newly married indian groom filed for divorce after he saw his bride out of her wedding makeup. That makeup is very heavy and dramatic and can literally transform you into another woman. I saw the bride and... yeesh.
