Coven Nami is one of the most disappointing legendary of 2023 IMO for that exact reason. They made her into a sea witch but then gave her human skin tone and pink hair. Just ruins the look they were going for completely. With the look they gave her she just looks like a mentally ill weirdo "I'm not like other girls". Because she looks like a regular human who colored their hair pink. They did my babe Nami dirty!

I would argue on Soraka though. The "Divine Soraka" Skin represented what Soraka used to look like. Before her lore change, she WAS a human who used her powers to stop Warwick when he was still a human, and a powerful Zaun mercenary who loved Chemical warfare and such. (Remember OLD LORE) So, don't be too put-off by Human Soraka. Kindred though, no that is 100% abomination.

7:33 This is the first I've heard of the Anima Squad skins being supposed to be sexy. Because they're not, except for kind of MF. Sure, the original Battle Bunny Riven was sexy (very intentionally so), but the reboot of the skinline turned them into animal-themed soldiers fighting against some aliens or something. Which I think is cool, but I'm pretty sure they're not meant to be sexy (except for maybe MF, but that's just a MF thing)

I fully agree with you. As someone who loves big skinlines like High Noon, Project and Space Groove, even I recognize 3 huge problems: champions not fitting a skinline, remaking lame ripoffs (ggmf is cool but battle bunny is lame, same for all the not project robot skins), and giving champs with outdated and janky models/fx all the good skinlines instead of using champions who would actually look good.

I remember being hyped af organizing my schedule as such so i could efficiently gather the necessary tokens, stumbled upon some great fanart that how he could look (all the fanart was goldy). When it finally released on the PBE and saw it on twitter, this wave of depression and pure disbelief hit me........ We were robbed. Can't make her human while still having her robot voice wtf... Just give her a legendary and a visual update too. Hot take: High Fashion Prestige is the ideal implementation (at least that we've seen). Although many lament that it does not totally look like it fits in with the rest of the skinline (i.e, Prestige Spirit Blossom Master Yi) I think it's ideal. Otherwise you'd either have boring recolours (like all early stage prestiges), or ones that are virtually identical but just better in details and some slight colour shifts (Prestige Nightbringer Kayn, Prestige Dragonmancer Volibear) in which at that point the prestige does not offer you two totally different options but just picking whether you like the base or the fancier more. High fashion based on the general skinline aesthetic allows an alternate take which allows better contextualising of all the sparkly effects and LV looking effects, while giving you an option of which aesthetic choice you prefer for the champion as opposed to simply being picking which of the two is blatantly better based on the same design aesthetic. There's been some stinkers lately, but I believe the earlier stages of this exploration was really nice.

The worst part of Ashen Conquerer Pantheon is that its a mythic line, meaning if you wanted the skin and didnt have the essence available from leveling, you now had to buy a boatload of masterwork chests to get the material. What essentially was a 1250 skin at most would run people 30-40 bucks.

I think turning Lamb human in the Spirit Blossom skin line was fine since there's lore to back it up and the skin looks amazing. But that's the only time I want to see it done. Porcelain Kindred was so bad Rito actually deleted/ hid my comment on their release video, where I went into the hypothesis on business deals with China. There were comments replying to me and then more comments saying, "I can't find that comment, what did they say?" If you know what stopped bones being used in skins, it's the same reason why animals/ "less than beasts" are being turned human. Oh, and the incendiary part, I claimed changing the core model of Kindred was culturally appropriating all of the artistic concepts that went into the Biblical lamb and wolf, the Taoist taijitu, Aesop's fables, sayings about April, fairy tales, etc. They made a literal death god and then boiled them down into an elf girl and her dumb pet for money... The truth hurts.
