I haven’t used the others, but we got an SLX floor model for $55 bucks last year! Wish they would’ve had more! Fantastic reel for $99. Casts far and the brakes are excellent.

I have a few budget reels from SLX’s, Kastkings, a couple of Daiwa 80’s and I have to say that the best one out of the bunch is my 13 Concept A… on sale at TW for $39.99 down from $80. My old one is still going strong but I had to pick up another at this price point! I’ve caught more bass on my 13 CA than any other reel I own and that’s over 40 years of fishing! Except for saltwater surf fishing and that award goes to the Shimano Sedona.

@ grab one on Tackle Warehouse right now for $40! If anything… a great beater or backup reel! I’ve been shocked by some of 13’s rods and reels. I have a full quiver of em. Funny, all my high end gear is more of a showcase in my man cave than my daily driver’s! I’d say the same about Savage Gear swimbaits! Most of my $200 big baits hang on the wall! Cheers 🍻

What is a good rod for the SLX A? My friend got one and he has been slaying bass with his. I want to know what is your reccomendations for a rod that is a bit cheaper but gets the job done pretty well?

Probably the shimano slx or the pro qualifier I own the pro qualifier it’s a very very solid real. Anything sbimano is just supreme.

@@jdubz1943 Rods for $50 are tough, but you could get a Berkeley lightning rod which is $50 and would keep the setup at $150 total. Either that or spend an extra $40 and get the vendetta rod which would make an awesome setup. Do a 7 foot medium action

@@luisarredondo5166 If u have the extra cash, do it. It has great braking and an extra bearing. If $100 is all u have, the regular SLX will be just fine
