there are all kinds of dark beers most of them are imported beer so you're going to be paying 3 to 4 times the amount of a regular beer but they're definitely available I just don't drink them myself because I don't enjoy them I never have

Are you at Laem Singh Viewpoint? the closest mexican I can find there is Zula Thale... it's a long shoot, because I don't know the island very well. However, what is the Alcohol % in those beers, Leo is pretty strong from what I remember?

Does Leo have a taste? I have been unable to detect it. Back in the late 90s, all of the available lager beers eventually gave me stomach cramps when I drank a bad one, except Heineken. Maybe the quality control was better with Heineken, which also has a bitter taste to it. I still drink Heineken when I am out, because I can taste it. At home I have Fuller's London Pride or Marstons Pedigree that I can order locally for delivery.

I have to tell you a funny Heineken story because I hate Heineken I cannot stand Heineken... I took my two brothers to Cuba for a guys getaway and the resort was arguing and fighting with the local brewery Cristal which makes one of my favorite beers in the world and all they were serving was Heineken... I got so upset that I tried to book us a different Resort until I found out that all the resorts on the island were arguing with the brewery at that time and everyone was serving Heineken it was brutal.... I wound up drinking a lot of mojitos. A lot

I totally agree with you that Chang is the worse beer in Thailand. Elephant piss is a good description, I think. Leo is the best beer and Singh is too carbonated. I would put Tiger as number 2. Most beers in green bottles here are light struck and smells and taste skunky.

Green bottles = skunked beer. Under exposure to the UV rays in sunlight and store display lights, the hop-derived molecules in the beer will break apart and recombine with a sulfuric compound. Brown bottles do a better job of blocking UV light.

Haven't been to Thailand for 10 years, but concur with your beer rankings. Of beers not so widely found I have to give a shout out to the Menabira Birra on tap that I enjoyed at the bar/cafe at the northern end of Rawai Beach. At the time I had never encounted it on tap before, but a great place yo enjoy a beer with a setting not unlike the one you are wanting us to guess. No idea if there is a nearby Mexican eaterie. Cheers.

The only thing Change Beer is good for is wearing their t-shirts in North America I can't deal with the volume of beer needed and as you know, you can't buy beer, you can only rent it. Dear Dr. Marc, today you get a bonus comment from me. Ha ha. It Has to do with probably some people drinking too many beers in Thailand. Well, here is the story. In 1880 the queen of Thailand went for a boat ride on her royal boat with all her attendants . For whatever reason, which I do not know, the boat capsized and the queen was thrown into the ocean where she drowned. Poor thing. Why wasn’t the queen saved by some of the other people on the boat? She was not saved because it was taboo for anybody to touch the queen so nobody dared save her. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. If you want all the details do some research and make a video about it.

As a nation,...Thai beer's whatever the brand are all in one category: UNDRINKABLE I found Beer Lao to be the only product that resembled a tasty, adequate alcohol content,...worth keeping in my refrigerator..To be fair its been several years since I lived in Thailand so perhaps somehow they evolved. ,..it was local or imported craft beers, i.e..IPA's,. Belgian ales, Beer Lao or nothing at all.

The trouble with Beer Lao and the Belgian wheat beers that you're talking about is that their three times the cost of the local beers... I will say this much though I do enjoy the Singha Leo and Archa. I've never been a craft beer guy I don't enjoy IPAs I simply enjoy a beer buzz. Cheers mate 🍺

When I first started going in the late 80s kloster beer was everywhere. Iit was German I think,cand quite strong. After a good few you would start white foaming in the mouth. I heard allegedly that they put amphetamines in it too make the fallang drink more. And that the factory was closed down . Chang is dreadful I agree. Had four big ones one night and woke up in the night with palpitations and was white as a ghost. The last time I was in Thailand I drank Heineken.

Chang is terrible. Leo's not too bad. Sam Miguel is close to a Corona. But my favorite is Snowy wizen wheat. That's good stuff!
