This video helped me buy my first knife that wasn’t gas station garbage. I’ve owned some old timers and buck knives that were okay, couple Swiss Army knives, really I don’t think I’d ever spent more than 15 bucks on a knife. I went in for the feldspar and it’s easily the very best knife I’ve ever owned, make me wonder what I’ve been missing out on all this time. Thanks for the recommendation!!! Very good knife that’s been on my side for a week solid now, don’t see it leaving anytime soon.

Totally respect it but Ganzo make their own designs and the knives they had before have always been similar but not clones. Great quality and if anyone wants to get in depth every single knife from Benchmade to Reeves is similar to every knife that came before it. Millions of knives being remade over and over has always been done but comparing Ganzo or Efengrow to clones just isn't right.

A clone is a knife that looks like a very popular/recognizable knife, but made by different company. A good example is how Ganzo makes clones of Benchmade’s 940 and Ontario’s Rat.
@barrybaldwin55353 жыл бұрын
I agree with your sanction on "clone" knives. I consider that practice "patent infringement", even if the statute of limitations has expired. When I decide to purchase a knife, after checking in with reputable channels like yours, I am expecting to receive the real thing & expect to pay appropriately for it, in other words, I'm not looking for the cheapest knockoff of the real thing, I expect to purchase the real deal. By the way, I agree that the Sencut is my favorite as well.

This is my opinion, and is not directed at any specific KZbin channel. I truely dislike the "mandatory" middle finger flick opening. In the real world EDC usage of my knife, I would never open my knife in a way that "misses" every 3rd or 4th time. I want a safe and reliable opening technique and showing off with a "Spidy flick", or weekend warrior style does not meet my needs of a controlled and unobtrusive opening of my EDC pocket knife. This is my humble opinion.

In general today's folding knives are just garbage made to put in cheap knife rolls as "collections". Some are made to old school specs. with brass bolsters, and honest blade locks. Prime example is the folding Buck. If you need a knife for serious tasks there is no substitute for a quality made fixed blade.

Great construction and design, it's on washers so not AS flicky for you toy people, but if you just have to have a liner lock, get one that's built right. Once the Rat1 is broken in, its action is amazing for a knife on watchers.

I own the full ti variant of the KB Vagrant but bought it from their website, not Amazon. Maybe could've saved a buck or three going with Amazon. Same story with the Honey Badger small in 8CR and the medium wharncleaver version also in 8CR. The Tangram Vector and the Sencut Scepter are exclusive to Amazon (I think) and at some point will probably get both. I'm still undecided on the Feldspar. Just relaying something a friend brought up regarding gritty action on budget knives that have caged bearings in the pivot - some of that sensation might be attributed to the bearings & cage needing to break in. A buddy was doing the first disassembly of a kizer that was a touch gritty. He was expecting to have to deburr or polish one of the surfaces but everything was really well finished. Since he does a fair bit of modifications and restoration he has a lot of spare & aftermarket parts stored above his workbench. He swapped out the bearings with ones from a different kizer and the grit completely disappeared. To confirm it was the bearings he put the original set of caged bearings in another knife he already knew was super smooth, the action became gritty but still totally functional.
