Agreed 100%, I see it as every other generic top 1 level that’s just like “hey here’s some borderline impossible wave and ship gameplay for about 80% of the level”. I guess people might like it because of it being a remake of old sh, but it’s not like that level was good at all for its gameplay anyway, so making a level based off of it is kinda... yeah. I can respect opinions, but seeing people call it one of the best remakes just makes me question what the standards for top extremes are now

Personally, I'm biased towards and against most of your choices here. I think out of these, cobwebs is probably the best one, because of the deco and atmosphere, and then grief. My problem with a lot of these is that they would be better off as "easy" impossible levels, where if someone chose to verify it it would be significantly better. Almost every version of slaughterhouse was meant to be absolutely impossible, and as intimidating as possible, so when a nerfed version got handed to doggie a long time ago, I was pretty disappointed. I think grief, howconfusingisthelvl, and Heliopolis are way better like that, and anemisis and cobwebs would be better off as more fun focused rather than difficulty. Personally, ascension into heaven seems by far the most promising, but depending on how return 0, misanthrope, grief, and the eternal night redeco turn out, I might change my mind. I think all of those have what it takes to make for a barely out of reach level for most people, until someone with enough dedication comes along to finish them off.
