Straight pipe it, get a SCT X4 tuner, EGR delete, and custom remote tune from Marty at Mo's speed shop. If nothing else... Get a tuner with custom tune

I went from 3.08 open to a 3.73 limited slip on my 95 tbird 4.6 and it really made a big difference.

For the 96-98 cars hands down the best mod out there is a PI swap. On my old 98 it had a swap full exhaust full bolt on and a tune. Including the bolt ons it had an upgraded fuel system. At the dyno it made 323 hp to the wheel. Not impressive numbers but that car was a blast to drive. With the right parts and a great tuner you can make power with a 2 valve. A friend of mine has a 96gt that is boosted with a turbo and tuned to 800 hp. But yes 4.10 gears with a 4.6 is the best option. With 4.10 gears you get great and fun drive ability and about 16 mpg

on my old 96 I had an Anderson Piper Pipe, the CL mass airflow, BBK 75MM TB, C@L upper plenum on a frankenstein PI headed 4.6L, with a custom chip tune on it, had LTs, X pipe with H flow cats, drone Masters, and 4:10 gears, with 31 spline traction lok and axles.. on my Current Gt Nothing engine wise yet, But really want a 4.6 DOHC

Great list, #1 is the best mod for the seat in your pants feel, it put the motor in a better powerband which is needed.

3.73’s in a 4r70w car on a 125 shot and the other usual mods he listed like longtube, cai, plenum, 93 tune and even a 2400rpm stall. Not sure how much power it makes but it runs 12.20’s on a drag radial. The car now has a kenne bell which is definitely the way to go if you got the money

Gen2/3 coyote rods, mls head gaskets arp head studs and a kenne bell 2.1 kit. Not exactly cheap but the way I went. Before that it was just usual bolt ons bbk plenum, headers and cold air intake 93 tune 3.73 gears and a 125 shot 😉

Longtubes are no easy task on a new edge speaking from experience the k member has to be dropped while engine being supported from above and getting all to line back up when you put the k member back on you will need help not to mention they barely fit it’s such a tight space it’s possible but honestly I don’t know if it’s worth the headache my brother has the same set up no cats x pipe pypes m80 mufflers magnaflow tips only difference is I have longtubes and they basically sound the same and his car is just as fast

Gotta go with boost its a simple bolt on them 4.6 cars most bang for the dollar.I will say if you need a complete engine then do the coyote swap 😮

Maybe u can answer this question I heard 2000 4.6 mustang with flow master 40s they have in my opinion best sound I have a 97 gt with 40s with cats I heard they have same engine how come the 2000 sounds better with same set up is there something different or is it the cats on mine probably holding back that bad ass Flowmaster sound to me 2000 sounds better

had a 94 just go carb with it if ur not gonna daily it and u want good power carb headers get a good cam do rear end gears should make good power if not more power then the 2v with full bolt ons
