Hello Zack, I love your content. I just want to add that javelin "nerf" came in 1986, roughly 10 years before Železný threw massive 98 meters, thus Železný could make it on your list, since almost nobody knows about him. It took 24 years for someone to even get close to this number and his record still stands strong rn.

Add someone here, Phil kessel in hockey. The guy was very good for multiple years, but he played 1064 consecutive regular season games. That is 13 years of hockey without missing a single game!

Tennis is such a niche sport that is so nerfed by TV that i would say any tennis player is an underrated athlete under the general public's eye. It's hard for people who have never hit with a pro to understand how insane they actually are. As a 5.5-6.0 player, i got one lucky game against a friend who won only a handful of matches on tour over the span of 6 years. There are insanely different levels and that makes the big 3 unfathomably untouchable.

The Javelin was changed after Uwe Hohn from East Germany threw 104.80m in 1984. They changed it in 1986. The reason being because there was a danger of it being thrown into the distance runners and the fact that the old design being better balanced didn’t always stick into the ground. It bounced a lot and would skip onto the track. The new javelin made sure that it would stick and if it didn’t the throw doesn’t count.

John Breznk, he went 25 years without a loss in worldwide competition. He was the basis for the movie "Over the top" and is discussed in the documentary "pulling john". John is the equivalent of Micheal Jordan never losing a game in 25 years against teams 100lb outside of his weightclass

Well...not undisputed anymore. Levan will likely retire in 10 years without a loss too. I think he might even be a good 20% stronger than prime breznk.
@StraitjacketFitness
@StraitjacketFitness Ай бұрын
@@andrelarocque5967 So here's a couple thought experiments that I enjoy contemplating: 1) Would the all time prime/peaked version of Levan defeat the all time prime/peaked version of Dennis Cyplenkov? And 2) Who wins in an alternative universe, if a peaked/prime version of Levan that had never used any PEDs, faced the peaked/primed version of John Breznk? Tell me what you think, if you like.
@billnaab7644
@billnaab7644 Ай бұрын
@@andrelarocque5967it’s still undisputed. Longevity and weight matter. Just the number of years he held titles, the number of times he competed, and the way that he competed all make it impossible to deny. If Levan stays on top for 20 years, then goes down a weight class and still kicks ass, then maybe there is a conversation.

I don't know what that guy was talking about with his characterization of Ken Griffey Jr. Griffey is universally considered one of the all-time greats and one of the most prodigious talents the game has ever seen. Along with Willie Mays, Barry Bonds and A-Rod he's the best true 5-tool player in history. His fielding is the standard for center fielders and his combination of grace and power is arguably without equal. He made it sound like Jr was solely a power hitter with a sweet stroke when in fact he had it all.

WARNE!! 🇦🇺 rip to the man! Not sure if he’s classified as under rated but love for him to get a mention! Idea, do a video on weird rules/changes in sports, off the mention of the golf ball and javelin changes many sports have lots of odd rule changes like this, or strange things that are banned - you can’t front flip/gainer in long jump, you also can’t cartwheel in shot put. David Weir, wheelchair athlete dominated the 2012 paralympics with gold in the 800, 1500, 5000 and the marathon, hugely underrated dominating his T54 category

She won at least one Gold, regularly 3 Golds, at every World Championship she competed in from 1978 up until 1998. (She did not compete in the time immediately after Reunification) She still won a Bronze in 2004 aged 43. All in all she placed first in 36 World or Olympic games, 6 Silver and 4 Bronzes.

Tyler Clary, American swimmer. He was the third fastest in the world for multiple events multiple Olympic trials. Each country is allotted 2 swimmers per individual event and unfortunately for Mr Clary, the first and second fastest in the world were Americans Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps. Clary did make Olympic teams and won a gold medal but without Lochte and Phelps, a generational and centurational (?) talent respectively, his haul would've been massive.
