Yury Zakharevich has plenty of respect for his world records in the 110kg class (210/250.5/455), but he also did 200/240/440@100 as a junior. That's 3kg over Ilya Ilyin's world record total at 105kg.

The most underrated lifts I have ever seen have to go to your parents deadlifting. It's such a shameful rarity that we see older populations deadlift, and imo it can't be understated how cool it was to see them get after it like that

One of the craziest things I've ever seen is Lu's 220 overhead squat.
@thechosenone93 Жыл бұрын
People literally look at that like “that’s impressive”. But they don’t get it. Think of how little Lu weighs. Think of the movement itself. Think of the ACTUAL heavy weight itself. Think of the fact that people heavier than him can’t do what he did. I don’t think people actually get how incredible that feat is.

I would like to add two more. David Bedzhanyan's 242kg Clean & Jerk at 2015 Russian nationals and Georgi Markov's world record snatch of 165kg at 69kg category during the 2000 Olympics in Sydney that stood up for many years.

Zlatan Vanev's 217.5 kg in clean & jerk. Venue was world championship in Poland in 2002, category was 85 kg. Absolutely epic lift knowing that Vanev almost always sucked in snatch due to a multiple elbow dislocations. He came from being like 10th and won the championship with that lift. His 3rd world championship gold in 3 different weight classes.

I'm more familiar with powerlifting and strongman than weightlifting unfortunately: - Zahir Khudayarov's 505 kg or 400kg*3 squats in wraps at only 120-ish kilos bodyweight, without a suit. - Konstantinovs' 426kg deadlift without a goddamn belt - Koklyaev pulling off a 200kg log lift after a failed rep in the 2010 world's strongest man and actually challenging a prime Zydrunas on the log - Benedikt Magnusson doing a slow eccentric with a 465 kg deadlift in competition, raw, which stayed the all-time world record for a decade. - The entire 2021 deadlift world championships, with 6 athletes pulling over 1000 lbs in the same session
@greigite5191 Жыл бұрын
great list, only mistake is that benedikt did 460.4kg completely raw with the eccentric, then later pulled a max of 465kg with a suit and straps at giants live at 2016, im the same with powerlifting and strongman, i just know much more about these than weightliting even though i want to learn more about the latter

Phill Phfister's 2009 WSM, qualifying heat, fingle fingers comes to mind. Not sure how underated it is but he went up against Big Z and posted a very respectable time probably only could have been beaten by Big Z, Brian Shaw, or maybe Terry Hollands, at the time. Fingers was Phfister's event ... And he got beat by effectively the Lasha, of the overhead/shoulder power events, Big Z.

If you keep losing socks, you need to put them in the washing machine first and layer shirts and towels ever top because socks are not lost in the dryer, they're lost in the spin cycle of the washer and if your socks are on top of all the other clothes, then they just get whipped out and sucked down to the water plant
