Longtail boats might the coolest thing I learned about all week. Moving an entire engine and driveshaft by hand on a little wooden boat is straight out of some Southeast Asian Dieselpunk setting.

My dad used to be friends with Eddie Hill.. maybe one day y'all can do a little show about Eddie Hill
@quickdeuce3 күн бұрын
Eddie and Ercie Hill were awesome competitors. What these Texan's brought to both drag and watersport racing was so very cool. Ercie was Eddie's #1 fan and was by his side until she passed 2021. Eddie is still with us at 88 years old.

I appreciate you sharing the awesomeness of Jetsprint racing. However, you literally stole my content as well as that from Cleetus McFarland and other channels. I’m not going to report you because that’s not my style, but next time, have the common courtesy to reach out and ask or at the bare minimum tag or mention the channels you are stealing content from.

In my opinion, if you make content for a public use site you shouldn't have a problem with fair use. He didn't steal your video he used it to highlight a particular form of racing a good example of fair use.
@JollyRoger9078 күн бұрын
@@deadspyder KZbin isn’t a public use site, it’s a public viewing site. Everything uploaded is protected. Just like I can’t just record Metallica songs off KZbin and then use them in my videos. There strict rules against that! Or can I just say I used their music to enhance public knowledge about my sport? I’m not overly worried about it, that’s why I didn’t report it. But there should be a common courtesy when doing it, that’s all I asked for, they obliged, end of story, all is good in the world.

Well I'll be damned! @4:01 note the "HELL YEAH BROTHER" on the rear wing and @4:07 it is none other than Garrett Mitchell aka: Cleetus McFarland (look for it on Cleetus McFarland's KZbin channel) entered in his very first sprint boat race - he set a course record that day in (I think) Aberdeen, Washington. Before that weekend he had NEVER driven one of these type FAST boats before,, NEVER! It is a testament to this young man's incredible, natural,, uncanny skill driving just about anything with a means of steering.

2:55 - How do they throttle these boats? I see 4 hands and I can't picture them using a floor pedal? Great video!

Of ALL the racing in water craft, IMHO these sprint boat races are the MOST incredible. Firstly it's the pilot must remember every turn, every point they must slightly LIFT in order to make a 90 degree turn and to handle the undoubtedly 800 - 1000 horsepower craft as masterfully as they must BLOWS MY MIND! 🙂

OMG!! Seeing those fuel boats LAUNCH COMPLETELY FROM THE WATER was absolutely incredible!! It's no wonder they can do that considering the power these engines produce but thinking all that power is directed to the water via a shaft and propellor can propel the water craft literally OUT of the water is nonetheless CRAZY to witness!!

Homeboy has a turbo on that longtail boat. Can you imagine what a grasshopper in the face at that speed feels like ? Not a safety flotation vest to be found for 1000 miles. No helmets. Geeez guys.

The drag boats weren't tunnel hulls, they were pickle-fork 3-point hydroplanes.

Yes, "Nitromethane" and "Nitromethane" are the same thing; they are just different ways of saying the same chemical compound, with the exact same chemical formula: CH3NO2.
