Got involved with a group of thrill seekers in the 90s. We jumped out of airplanes, rode horses,raced cars,motorcycles and decided to take a stab at offshore boat racing. Running over 100 MPH in an open fountain 38 foot boat was one of the most exciting things we ever did, watching what happened when things didn’t work out correctly quickly changed my mind about offshore boat racing. Awesome sport indeed. I’ll stick to the ground.

Was introduced to Stefano Casiraghi and Princess Caroline through Fabio Buzzi, Mike Fiore gave me my first ride at over 130 mph navigating for his dad who was throttling but could not see well! He was just a kid, knew Tom Gentry and a good buddy Mark ( the pie eater ) died in Australia driving a cat also took Craig Arfons to lunch a month before he died and discussed knowing Leo Villa who was Donald Cambells mechanic, small world, a lot of grief, enjoy life to the fullest anyway, they did!

Wow. Great video. Love the title! Offshore powerboat racing isn't for the faint of heart and is best for those with a death wish. Throughout the 1990s I was the driver on the Canon/Pitman Photo Express boats and raced with Frank's Marine and this video is generally right on the money. We lost a lot of friends to the sport. The video only features some of the casualties, not nearly all. God bless the racers that paid the ultimate price and God bless their families and friends.

I went to Bonneville speedway and was at the 4 and 1/2 mile marker. I watched a lakester going 287 mph flip over on its roof and then start the pencil roll for about 3 and 1/2 mi And I myself have been in a 42 mph accident going down. Lookout mountain almost been off the side of that in the same accident but still here and finished my run. Made it out with a pretty good scrape on my side. Was okay though considering just got to be smart and prepare for the worst

Yep .. I'll trade Runnin' This Peterbilt 389 Rooster 🐓 Cruzin' Cluck Cluck Chicken Truck 🚚 That Moves Produce Coast To Coast for a Powerboat speedboat 🚤 Race 🏁 my Dad Raced wing and non Wing Sprint Cars thru the 60s , 70s - till about 1982 . But he gave Steve Stepp an Engine for the Very First boat he Built, that he Displayed @ the Miami Boat Show. Many Many moons 🌙 ago .

Nothing better than getting a boat to fly. Only thing in the water is 50 to70 percent of the propeller. Pure anadulterated adrenaline. Booyaa. I'm thankful to remember our younger days . Will never forget !!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
