I’m an old fart now at 64 years of age & 40 plus years ago can still recall those monsters racing around & around Mission Bay here in San Diego California. When the show came to town we camped for 3 days out on Fiesta Island each year and had some awesome times with friends & family. Chuck Muncie in the “ Miss Budweiser” was THE Man Back then. There were unfortunately some pretty horrendous crashes sometimes when they would catch air underneath and flip way up in the air before crashing back down again. That was when racing in those took a REAL PAIR OF BALLS. Cool video here , thanks for posting 😎👍

I remember when we lived in San Diego we were in the Pacific Beach area. We watched Miss Budwiser and Miss Bardahl duking it out on Mission Bay in the mid 1960's. One race Miss Budwiser got taken out by a beer can in the water. Beer ca s were made of steel back then.

The Atomic Cup on the Columbia River in the 60s. When they came by close enough to see tne driver's face at 100 mph your whole body vibrated from the roar.

It's too bad this could have been a great video if the camera wasn't shaking all the time especially on the running boats far out on the water.

I had a friend from work who drove the super Salami Miss Oberto for a few years and quit after a turbine replaced the piston engine. He said he felt unsafe in the boat.
