Once upon a time, Dave Pelz was the king of short game instruction and made a fortune in the process of selling books and coaching pros like Payne Stewart. The trouble with him was that his books and approach are extremely detailed and complex….Dan, by contrast, boils it all down to simple basics and is thus far more effective and practical for us hackers to employ….top coach!

I am a beginner golfer, and you are my short-game guru, Dan. I may watch videos from other KZbinrs, but I always, ALWAYS relate what I viewed to what you have taught me. I am lucky to have many opportunities to practice your teachings, which have made an enormous difference in my golf game. When I am pitching or chipping, before the shot, I tell myself, "Just trust your technique." I immediately feel confident and usually perform pretty well. Also, with every video of yours I watch, I glean new information, so keep up the great work!

@DanGrieveGolf, this is amazing content. The freedom your 3 release technique and online coaching has given my game is nothing short of amazing. No longer am I one dimensional in short game but my confidence on the course has also improved knowing I now have the tools to get up & down whenever I miss the green which for a high handicapper like me is quite a lot. Even my short game practice is now more meaningful & structured to the point where I'm not worried whenever I find the practice green at my home course inaccessible. I simply find a quiet spot & chip into a hoop going through the releases as I use my imagination to picture how the ball will most likely react. Rest assured my weekend fourball pairings over the past few rounds have been pleasantly surprised not just because of my length off the tee but also the finesse that comes with the short game. Can't wait for that magical round where every aspect of my game just comes together.... 💯👊

I tried using a 7, 8 and 9 today and practiced for about 2 hours and I was hitting 8 out of 10 shots to within 10 feet (from 60 to 100 feet) and even my worst shots were 13-15 feet and were still make-able. I chipped in or hit it stone dead so many times. These are my favorite videos ever, thank you.

I absolutely love the idea of making a practice swing or rehearsal shot with the ghost ball. My biggest short coming with my pre-shot routine is making practice swings that are fairly reasonable, but really not envisioning and feeling the shot as if it were real. I think pantomiming the ghost ball will help me with that visualization and imaginative creative process . Thank you for all you have done. Also, I need to be using more eight irons especially when I have an uphill line and a lot of green.

"Short Shots" are usually the only time I take Practice Swings. I take the First for "Form", if that felt 'Right' then the Second is "Form and Power" - for the Distance to Target Spot. If the Second felt Good, then I play the Shot.

Thank you Dan, love the content, ive been away from golf for a bit , injuries, of course, im thinking back to a few short game instructions ive watched and the main focus was get that ball on the green as fast as possible, not in the Air on the ground and control the roll out, is this way of thinking over now ?? i love what i just watched, completely agree with all the shots hes stated. idk, if i could I'd have 5 wedges in my bag, love the short game aspect of golf, my favorite shot to get to on every hole. Envisioning my short game shots has definitely lowered my score this year, I just need to get better at envisioning how the ball will come off my 8,9 irons for chips, I am definitely someone that has traditionally just used my 54 around the green because I have confidence in it, but I can see how practicing with other lofts will expand my game, thanks for the video Dan

Great video Dan. I purchased your book in September and I have improved my chipping no end. I have only applied release 1 to my game so far, and it has worked wonders.
