Fully deserved top spot. IMO, good pop music is all about taking that small moment or idea and heightening it into being the only thing that matters for a few minutes, use all the production gusto, all the hooks needed. Dance With Somebody is perhaps the perfect embodiment of that idea. It's not a big idea or a particularly special one, but it is the stuff that builds a life, and Whitney captures it so perfectly.

Okay I'll be the party rock guy. I was in middle school when that dropped and it went absolutely nuts. You couldn't go more than a couple hours without someone playing it. Idk how this list is intended to be categorized but for people my age around that time, it wasn't a novelty song.
