Baculum factulum: Scandinavian knife makers have long favored fossilized walrus baculum as handle material. The reason? It's possibly the only natural material that has a higher frictional coefficient when wet. As in, *less* slippery when wet. Perfect for a knife handle that's going to be used on a boat.

I was a student of yours at the University of Cincinnati, in a class on Ancient Sports (which was great btw!), so when I saw your name in today's BMCR "Hippos" review, I felt I had to see what else you've been up to since then, and I gotta say, this is a real treat, getting to watch the guy who taught me about knucklebones in college teaching me all these years later about dick bones 😂 Thanks for doing what you do, Flint! Looking forward to watching everything that's next for the channel 😁

That...was more interesting than I thought it possibly could be. I figured it was gonna be a tool somewhere, looks like you could make an awl or basic needle from one with little work, its just a useful shape. If Im feeling especially brave one day I may query Google on why we do not have a baculum. Or I may just wait for some creator to serve up that morsel of information, I dont need that on my search history

Hello Mr Dibble, or professor. I just saw your discussion with Graham Hancock and Joe Rogan and I really appreciate you. I'm the son of a musician, and I pursue music when I see another person pursuing their father's work, it really resonates with me. I see you are enthusiasm, and I see how much you loved speaking about agriculture, and the sites that you worked on. Probably 2 1/2 hours into the debate, although I wouldn't call it a debate. I've seen nonsense on Joe Rogan before, obviously. When are the wildest phenomenon in the world is Joe Rogan and his KZbin channel. I really admire your composure, and I am really happy that you and Graham could have this discussion, even though you guys come with totally different points of view. I hear both of your arguments, and I can agree with you, and I can also see where he's coming from. It's fascinating. If I had another life, perhaps I would have been an archaeologist too, or historian or something. I hope that you'll be back on rogan, and I think that you could be a big celebrity just like Graham too. Moreover, forgive my terrible punctuation.I'm using dictation and transcription to type, rather than using my hands, so I have to include all of the punctuation myself. Anyways, thank you very much. I've subscribed to you, I hope that everybody subscribes to you, I hope that you have a million followers in the next few years. The only thing I couldn't wrap my mind around was you're worried about identifying ancient carvings with certain ethnic groups, and considering the political climate that we live in that makes total sense. And just from a philosophical personal point of view, I understand it's not a good idea to try to put people into certain ethnic groups and so on and so forth blah blah blah just keep up the amazing work sir

Great video! Only one thing: the urethra is in the penis, close to the baculum, ureter is higher up, between kidney and bladder. (I study the urethra, not in dogs bc of the baculum)

huh, fair enough. I was directly quoting Bartosowiecz and Gal at that point (unless I accidentally misspoke), but the more we can share about the location of the urethra, the better! and very importantly, glad you liked it! :o)

The Great Debate Migration. I wonder if the debate has at all somewhat softened your view to atleast be open to studying the things Graham kept pointing that needed more research. Or if it's much the same as it was before the debate.
