I love decluttering. But no, you should not just get rid of everything you haven't worn in 2 years. There are exceptions. For example, I got rid of a beautiful Emmanuel Ungaro formal dress based on bad advice like this. I got rid of it because it didn't suit my lifestyle at the time and, at the time, I had gained weight and it did not fit. Well, guess what, several years later I lost the weight and have kept it off ever since. I would've loved to wear that dress last year, but I could not because, it's gone. What a mistake. I still have not found it second hand and even if I did, I'd have to pay more for it than I originally paid for it! Lesson: If something is really good quality, and you're relatively young, you may want to hang onto it.

I'm so sorry you're having a hard time right now with your life change. My dad used to say to me, remember Amy, in a year this won't even matter. 9/10 times he was right! Sending prayers for you. My closet is getting a fresh coat of paint so it's completely empty right now. During my first purge, I tried to pay attention to items I wasn't wearing and why. I have consciously decided to eliminate anything made with acrylic and will reduce other synthetic materials where I can in areas where it makes the most sense. For example, I need workout gear, and items that travel well which means some polyester and spandex will remain but sweaters in synthetic materials, especially acrylic, will go. I'll get as much wear as possible from current fast fashion items I own, but have decided to stop purchasing them overall. Love some of the jeans, you've shown and will likely order. I love your tip re getting rid of uncomfortable shoes, which is particularly hard if you love the style. I have a pair of black summer heeled sandals. They have about a 3" heel, and for some reason I keep falling off of them. I fell off of them at my bf's father's funeral abd everyone saw me and laughed. That's really the last straw. I feel for you with your divorce mine has been going on for 5 1/2 years. Our court trial is Feb 2024 trial which is such a huge waste of money… we have been together for 41 years. The stress is real… your so blessed you have your channel. I have my business still.. which is an outlet for me too.. if you can settle do it .. I have given my ex so many offers to settle and he won’t settle… your a beautiful smart women… you will be OK!!! It just doesn’t feel that way right now…. I do need to get rid of items that don't fit. Certain items fit or should I say, I can get these items 'on', but truly they aren't comfortable. Stuff I am guilty of, but won't get rid of .. my Hawaii vacation clothes .. sure I haven't been to the island for a few years, but .. Oh Heather, i am so sorry about your marriage. I know that this is the last thing you wanted to do. But God knows all about it and he has you in the palm of his hand. Nothing you are going through; he hasn't been through with you. I will pray for this settlement date and that you won't have to go to court. I know that there is someone else out there for you. You deserve to be happy and there is a man who will cherish you the way you want to be cherished and loved. I just know that he is there waiting to meet you or waiting for the perfect timing. I have been oohing and aahing your jackets. They are so unusual and have that perfectness. Some little design that draws your eye to it. I think your advice is right on. Most of these tips make so much sense. I want to stop buying a lot of things and just buy the most quality pieces I can find that I will wear and want as an investment piece. A camel coat is something I have wanted for a long time. I had one as a child and I loved it.
