Apex doesn't limit player slots, I'm not sure where you got that information? You can adjust the player slots yourself on your server panel, and it is only locked when a game specifically will not run if you set your player count any higher. They do have a recommended player count for each package but this is not enforced. Zero artificial player slot limit present whatsoever outside actual game limits. Source: I work at Apex and at the very least on this date January 2023 there is no player slot limit enforced. Disclaimer: Not speaking officially on Apex's behalf, was just surprised to see that stated as a fact when it's verifiably untrue

I use Apex and had a question. I had a 4gb server, pre gen'd 20k Chunks with Chunky, but somehow mining a single coal ore in a game caused lag spikes? And I was alone? Wtf is Apex's service because the GB-Player chart states that 4gb should be perfect for 10 players but I can barely play it alone

@@gryzz6873 It's hard to say without looking at the server, but if you submit a ticket or open a livechat I'm sure an agent can help you out. That's the sort of thing we deal with every day and we won't shrug you off and tell you it's perfectly normal. ^^ If I tried to help you without seeing the server I'd be giving you overly general advice and it probably wouldn't be too helpful; there are a lot of possible reasons for lag that we can narrow down if we have the server in front of us.

Aternos does have mod and plugin support technically but it is very limited. I'm personally moving away from my free modded server I've run on aternos for over a year because I require something stronger. Despite this I have two other modded servers I also run on the side on Aternos. I would say they work pretty well if your looking to just play with your friends as even though I run these servers they have only ever been for me and my friends. You can use mods, but try not to use too many. I wouldnt use anything much over a hundred and that's if you only have a few people playing. As I said, good to start understanding how servers work without spending money or to just have a server to play with your pals here and there

After seeing the video I have a question. I notice that the pricing is good across the board. but the expected player count is way higher than I need. I just a server to run for me and three others at most, but I want smooth gameplay but dont need all the player slots. Is their a host service that fits my bill or should I just go with the 3-4 gigs of ram and not care for the player lots?

if ur really not going to do modded, literally any option is good, I personally use pebble host and play modded minecraft with a friend which is Divine journey 2 and runs completely fine and discord support for the server is really good.

Shockbyte sometimes have long wait times, but once you have your server, the service is actually pretty neat. The best part about them is the library of guides on their youtube channel. Good stuff.

Apex hosting charged my friend 200 a month for a 3 gb server because all the add ons they threw on. and scalacube sucked for ark hosting but that is a diffrent game so maybe it runs smoother on minecraft,

multi craft panels are terrible. pterodactyl (or apollo as sparked calls them) is much better and more responsive. i operate a server network using sparked host shared hosting across all three tiers: budget enterprise and extreme. they are very cheap and offer 10/10 customer support (10 second response time to a TICKET) - would definitely recommend

Don't listen to the other comment, Aternos will run like absolute dog crap for what you want. I can't which host but I can say, for 1.19.4 (current latest version of MC) you'd probably want at least 5 - 7gb of ram. Price just depends on the hosting provider really. Use something like paper if you want decent performance.

Any recommendations? I am running a 3 man modded server with big mods like The undergarden, Ice and fire, Twighlight forest and other mods (150 mods).
