Great to see non-surgical methods explained. Bone broth has plenty of manganese and other minerals. I had a near-complete rotator cuff tear in a freak accident (couldn't even lift my arm up) replete with a loud "pop" several years ago with no problems ever since my personal protocol. I ate lots of bone broth almost every day for months (mostly rooster, but also plenty of beef). Never iced it. No surgery as I'm very skeptical of profit-oriented methods. Kept using/moving it as much as possible without re-injuring it. No problems ever since, and was close to normal within 2 years. Using food to heal is largely out of modern medicine's toolbox but often with surprisingly effective results. A comfrey salve with other herbs was also used. Vit. C too which is good for collagen repair.

My left shoulder/ rotator cuff has been hurting for a few years now. Doing that hanging stretch doesn’t help. I tried it and it almost feels like it hurts it more. It’s most uncomfortable when I sleep on it at night. The extra pillow stuff helps but it’s hard when I’ve always been a side sleeper or on my stomach. @@Drberg I quote my doctor who gave me advice over the phone when I had Covid 19: "Ibalgin. Goodbye." It is because of this that I no longer turn to doctors with some problems (I'm 47, I have only one problem so far, a varicose vein on my left leg - it's more of a cosmetic problem for now), I go to the Internet and search with common sense. Always used to have a little pain in rotator cuffs on both sides, but particular my left. Felt them even doing barbell biceps curls. Had to use a EZ-curl bar to avoid it. But then I started doing rotator cuffs exercises with resistance bands. Let me tell you, after just 4 months all problems dissapeared and they felt much more stable and stronger. This was many years ago and never had any problem with rotator cuffs again.

Taking high doses, long-term can lead to Parkinson disease-like symptoms."

As always great information, thank you. I had shoulder injuries for years to a greater or lesser extent through bad exercises. Early last year I discovered a book called The Oxygen Advantage which changed my life. The shoulder pain disappeared in a matter of months and so did the back pain I had experienced for 30 years. I believe the shoulder pain was cured because of extra oxygen in my body and the back pain was cured by strengthening my diaphragm.

@@dalilopez8117 There are a few methods: ozone therapy, oxygen therapy, hydrogen peroxide protocol. The base premise of all is anaerobic disease cannot survive in a healthy, highly oxygenated environment. And everything we do, in a modern world deprives the body of oxygen. Look for 'The One Minute Cure', by Madison Cavaugh. Just one example, which I used, for over 3 years.

Hi Dr. Berg. I am very appreciative for your work and keeping we people educated with vital information. Would you ever consider doing a video on Thalassemia minor? I'm 74, thin, good health. I cannot tolerate iron and want to start taking manganese. Some of the foods I'm advised not to eat are what I consume on a daily basis: beans, broccoli, peanut butter, leafy greens, including large salads every other day, which I learned from you. Now I'm learning that my daily diet is not good for thalassemia minor. I'm so perplexed about all of this. I know it's an odd topic, and you might not be able to provide insight about it, and that would be OK. I still love you.

Dr Berg, Rest was one of the things the drs here said for me to do when the pain is too intense since the prescribed pain meds only worked for a few hours on the 1st dose only. Also, my injury is bad enough to make my entire arm and hand swell. Elevation rest does help some and so does taking lasix. But I'm afraid of killing my kidneys so I only take that about 2-3 times per week depending on the swelling. And if swelling isn't too bad don't take it at all. But if arm is both swollen and cold, definitely do cuz that helps it feel somewhat better. And never in my life being flexible even though i was very strong, i feel like....i dunno what. If rest is one of the worst things for shoulder injuries, why would these doctors tell us to do that? But of course, I think I already know.

I developed extremely painful shoulders (both) with drastically reduced flexibility over the span of 10+ years from poor sleeping habits. Vitamin D changed everything for the better, life changing even. I'm assuming it helped absorbtion of other nutrients like manganese that was needed to heal. My level is still only 31.5 of 100 but I am MUCH better off than I was before supplementing with vitD. Even when I've stopped taking it for a while, the shoulders remained feeling well, meaning it had a lasting actual healing effect 🙂

Most rotator cuffs heal with initial rest followed by a supervised exercise program with a doctor of physical therapy. You don’t surgery even if it’s a full thickness tear, a surgeon will insist and most believe them but always try conservative care first for 6-8 weeks.

I'm so glad you mentioned the steroid/fluoroquinolones antibiotics combo that causes tendon ruptures! Even fluoroquinolones by itself is a risk factor. My husband tore both of his rotator cuffs in each shoulder from taking that. The other thing i wanted to comment on is the increased vascularization that leads to leaky blood vessels. That sounds like what happens with macular degeneration. Is it related? Would manganese help with that?
@angelicannihilator
@angelicannihilator 2 жыл бұрын
Manganese mainly helps with bones and joint issue. For vascular health you could take CoQ10 or Vitamin E (Tocotrienols). And obviously exercise. Fasting too, to repair damage with autophagy

Thanks Doc, I live in Oz and have some years ago suffered a major injury and a "through" tear in one and multiple tears in the others. Been very problematic in restricting the arm, in sleeping and dressing. Now the fun part is I'm 72 and in otherwise good health but a couple of weeks ago I slipped and fell going down a ramp and after a "short flight" landed squarely on my left shoulder. Couldn't get up without help, felt like a real goose. Anyway to any poor buggers out there with rotator cuff issues just remember it could be both sides. There are tears in the L side just waiting on report. I will try to uptake my Mn levels and hope there will be some improvement as this latest has really limited my life activities.

Further to your work Dr Berg, people should watch kneesovertoesguy on yt. Always use push and then a pull exercise to keep the shoulder tracking right(counter exercises). Lift heavier weights even with one rep to thicken the tendon. Tendons grow slow so only increases the weights after a few months. Move slowly with a higher weight, drop the weight to move at speed.

Couple weeks ago I injured my shoulder tendon doing some farm work. I've had this same shoulder problem for years and its' gotten better/worse over the years with various therapeis and diets. It briefly got better when I did meat heavy keto and ate about a 1lb of meat a day. But this last year I've been eating not so great. The week I injured my shoulder I was eating too much bread. Anyway, got the Manganese supplement and did the 200mg a day and within 2 days it got ALOT better. I had planned to do the 200mg for a month like Dr Berg said in video but within 1 week I tapered down to about 100mg/day. I'll probably do that for a month and reduce after. It is indeed working wonders on my shoulder tendons.

For TEN years following a car accident my shoulder was killing me and doktors kept recommending rotator cuff surgery, but I kept saying, NO! I went to a PT who manipulated my shoulder and arm. I thought she broke my elbow when she put my ULNAR NERVE back into place! By the end of the day the shoulder pain was GONE, and I had full movement! I often wonder how many people are talked into unnecessary, *WRONG* surgeries by money hungry doktors!!?? If I had done the surgery it would NOT have helped the pain or the problem. Thank you Dr Berg for your advice on our health issues and offer CURES when these awful doktors out there are only in it for the money.

I have had three different procedures on my shoulders. One on the left and two on the right. The last one was a complete break away of the superaspinatus tendon from the humerus bone. So I am familiar with their trickiness. My one shoulder is slipping in and out again, so I will try manganese. I have a degree of kyphosis so that is a main trigger for making the shoulders unstable.

I am so excited that this could be the answer that will heal it! Since I am allergic to shell seafood I'll have to opt for a supplement. This was really helpful for me. I have a tendon injury in the hip .. not properly diagnosed but I believe this is what it is based on symptoms. The only supplements that have helped are MANGANESE, L-Leucine, and N-acetyl-Glucosamine. I have been fearfully taking Manganese at 60 mg daily for 6 months. I accidentally left it out of my supplements for 8 days .. only 8 days .. and the symptoms returned. Mainly, I have a sudden loss of stability in the leg/hip on that side. I have actually suddenly collapsed to the ground or felt a strong spasm/twinge during a walking stride. Walking is the worst and yet it is so important for health. Dr Berg .. how do I get a proper diagnosis and suitable eccentric exercises for this? I seem to be a medical mystery to the professionals I have seen.
