@@jadonmuller1576 If you are an adult, just be friends without further expectations. It will naturally develop. If you are a teen, focus on school. I allow my daughters to have friends that are boys. Allowing a child (teens are children) to make an exclusive relationship commitment to another child is absurd. We won’t let them drive until they are 16, vote until they are 18, rent a car until they are 25, why on earth would we allow them to pledge their life to another emotionally immature human?

@@Adrenalean767 that isn’t what I said. I said “we” as in societal standards, recognizes that with age comes more maturity to handle more mature experiences but then they think dating us ok at 13 or 14. And of course it depends on the person. I’ve told my daughter that if she is mature enough, there is nothing wrong with marriage at 18.

this is the absolute reality, my ex decided that we need to divorce when things got hard for us as we made to kids and now we are a broken family with 2 little kids and she jumped straightaway in someone's bed, not even a month after we decided to divorce .At the beginning i thought i was losing the love of my life but slowly I'm starting to realise that her not wanting to work on our relation is the best thing, this is what she has done with every relation she had in the past, jump out when it got hard.

Another reason divorce is so high is because of the teachings of people like Toure Roberts and Sarah Jakes, where they’re saying if you “feel he/she wasn’t really the ‘one’, it’s fine to divorce.” Because purportedly it wasn’t God who joined the two together. So basically, a get out of marriage free card for any Christian that wants a divorce, at any time.

There’s too many variables to dive into to fully null and void this conversation. It came up on my IG feed, and instantly I was like… No. This is from a Christian thought process, so I understand the short sighted thought on the matter, being a former believer. One issue is, he literally advocated for the type of dating he’s against. He gave no way to happen upon this dateless dating without seeing if this is right, accept for saying that god looks at the heart. So… You want me to not date. Pray. Trust. Believe. And allow god to navigate the relationship, once found. This is what I get from this… No blood. THAT, is what’s causing divorce. The only people falling for this nonsense are believers. 25% of Christian’s get a divorce. Only roughly 2% of Atheist get a divorce. Albeit far less Atheist even marry. Which shows that marriage is a religious construct now, versus a business transaction, like it use to be.
@k20892 жыл бұрын
i think dating is necessary. because if you marry a toxic person it leads to divorce anyways. especially if you disagree with them in sex life and intimacy. at that point its not dating but if you been with each other long enough you will realize if you are using each other for sex or growing together. people are considered dumb for marrying someone less than a year within meeting each other and even dumber if they divorced soon after. i think dating always existed but the pheonomenon was just given a term later down the road. it is necessary to see if you are willing to commit to someone before setting the relationship in stone. remember the bible also states the devil comes in many forms. also eve chose to follow the snakes word over god and adams word and she ate the fruit. with that instance in mind she was misleaded, so judgement needs time time flourish before commiting.

Yes get to know someone is necessary, but like he said doing it the right way. Sex should be saved for marriage. Knowing his family or her family tells you a lot. I I learned a lot seeing how my father in law treated his wife, I knew God sent the right man.

Isn't it better to fast and pray? God knows the person better than you, so why not ask Him? You can never know a person because they can and will change in the future, let's humble ourselves and ask God. Dating has resulted in a high divorce rate.
@jonlanier_4 жыл бұрын
I disagree on the divorce rate is the same as the world. Barna, did a study on this and found it to be only 15%. I've been a preacher for over 30 years. I've only seen about 8 divorces were both the husband and the wife were committed Christians. (In my mind, at least attending services 90% of the time) In those years of ministry, I only do Christian weddings.... meaning both are Christian dedicated. I do at least 6-8 pre-marital counseling classes. I've not had any divorces of whom I've married. Now there were a few couples I refused to marry because they were not ready or compatible. I know one of those went off and got married anyway... were divorced in a year.

be intentional. Focus on the inside, the heart, and most importantly, God. And do this together as a couple and find compatability, chemistry and all the other things that you want in a partner: sense of humor, kindness, family oriented, ambition etc...Instead of having premarital sex off the jump, letting lust and/or money lead the relationship, dating multiple partners at the same time and rinse and repeating.
