A tip that makes crossing lava better! Instead of rolling, turn your back to where you want to go and back-dash. You cover a lot more ground and with less animation lag.

This series is lining up to be the gold standard of guides. Everyone else just bogs down the script with too many details and specifics, padding their run time repeating things. These, on the other hand, have been ultimately concise, direct, and easy to follow.
@rawr3060 Жыл бұрын
You can get to the boss of Gelmir Hero's Grave much easier. When you keep going through the lava where you got to the ringed finger, there is a place to drop down behind where the glovewart was, stick to the left when facing the hole to drop down then drop down once more and it puts you right in front of the door you push open to get to the boss.

Tip for the Fallingstar Beast at the top: take the ladder instead of the spirit spring. It won't attack you if you stand at the top of the ladder and don't take a single step forward. This gives you a chance to buff or summon spirit ashes as needed before fending off its nonstop attacks.
@markostendorf23732 жыл бұрын
Bull, the first time I went up there it noked me off to my death... you got lucky
@Semiotichazey2 жыл бұрын
@@markostendorf2373 This has been literally my experience every time I took the ladder. Admittedly, the very first time, I took the spirit spring. But an important part of my tip is that you literally don't take a single step...that's all it takes to trigger the rock-bull-beetle-thing.

Or you could just jump from the spirit spring and land on the right edge part of the crater. I did all my preparations there.

What makes these guides the best ER guides on YT is the relaxed, cheerful way that they are narrated. ER is so miserable, anxious and terrifying that it's really a relief to go through it with someone who basically says "you've got this".

Best way to get the invisible scarabs I’ve found is to blanket the area with dragon breath. Thinking they just need to be hit once it makes me wonder if maybe mohg or Margot’s shackle might work on them. Might have to try that next time.

Just pointing out that in the Gelmir Hero's Cave. The final Chariot actually waits for a bit longer than usual before turning around at the bottom of the lava. This is to allow you time to jump off and get to safety.

Great vid as always! 8:24 Quick tip for lava traversal though - it's much faster to face the camera and backstep with the dodge button (O on Playstation)! Don't press any directions - just chain-backstep and you'll move much quicker than rolling. This applies to scarlet rot / poison swamp areas as well, as it avoids status buildup. Bloodhound Step ofc is even better (if you have it).

9:43 I find it way easier to aim for what ever side is opposite of you to get to that ledge below. So if you're coming out of the right alcove, run towards the left corner, in a diagonal line, at the far end of the down sloping ramp and just drop down. It's easier because you're going in more of a straight line, and so you don't over shoot by a mile or a hair's breath.

In Gelmir's Hero Grave there is an easier way to get down onto the ledge; run across the bridge section into the corner section; there's a shade in the right nook; kill it (do holy damage), and use the nook to stay safe from the chariot. Once the chariot goes back up, you can now go drop onto the ledge from the front, making your drop direction in line with the ledge, rather than diagonal and often overshooting it.

For the beast at the end, I summoned my mimic, and then used an ice Bastard Sword with glintblade phalanx, which wasn't too effective. But I also had my beast rock incantation with a +12 claw seal. That was doing decent damage and managed to stun him a few times with headshots. I beat him first try. Well, second I guess, because I initially took the ladder, tried to panick summon, and he knocked me right back from whence I came. But my first real attempt at fighting, I managed to get him. Which is odd because that one in the cave killed me like 5 times, and the one outside Leyndell killed me.

I think this area shows why everyones play through is different. I did this almost literally in the reverse order. I got the Volcano Manor invite, Killed Snakey McBastardface which emptied the manor and apparently meant i missed doing a massive chunk of the game. Then went outside and spent ages trying to work out how to get onto the top level of the mountain, gave up and moved onto the capital. Been playing videogames since the VIC 20 and i honestly don't think I've enjoyed a game more than Elden Ring. So, is Patches like a serial bastard? As in, he's in all their games and he's a twat in all of them?
