When you say “905” , do you mean Raptors fans? If so, slight correction for you: Raptors 905 is the G league affiliate team and they play in Mississauga, a suburb of Toronto, where the area code is 905. The area code in Toronto proper is 416, and that’s the origin of “The Six” -a nickname for the city. And to answer your question: I am feeling optimistic! Can’t wait to see our young core - Barnes, Barrett, Quickley, aka BBQ - play a whole season together.

@@DeHave the young core is exciting to me. I don't think the front office wants to tank per se, but they have acknowledged that they are in a rebuild. I feel that this rebuild should have happened 2 or 3 years ago instead of deciding to go with the Fred-Pascal-OG core

Toronto fan here. Love the breakdown, I think a lot of people are underselling how great IQ and RJ could be. I know there are a lot of Knicks fans that have been frustrated with RJ, and I was too when I watched him there. But something about playing on home soil brings out the best in that young man and he is showing out in Toronto and the international stage. If IQ can reach a similar potential to Maxey and their rookies and Gradey develop well. Could see this team being top 5 seed in the east within the next 3-5 years.

Great analysis of the raps. The team this year is easily a play-in in the East (barring injuries). RJ’s growth from playing from with team Canada is going to be exciting to see. A lot of fans in Toronto aren’t hip to Chomche yet, many fans are still salty and jaded over the trading Jakob for the 8th pick and are low on Masai, but real ones know he might of just drafted two back to back diamonds in the rough with Shead & Chomche. The hope is Chomche doesn’t develop too quickly before we gotta pay him 😅. Mogbo is a solid pick, will be interesting to see how great of a chemistry he will have when Scottie plays with the new bench mob. Overall, Coach Darko has his work cut out for him to figure out the rotations cause we have a lot of young guys hungry for minutes.
@terrancedavis48512 ай бұрын
Also for ulrich chomche, what he showed in summer league is very exciting. He’s improved much from his Africa league days and one thing that stood out is how fast he is. At 7ft running the floor he out ran everybody he is fast af, doesnt even make sense how fast he is. He needs to learn the game but he smart and looks determined to develop his game . He could end up being the best player we selected this draft

Great video! I don't agree with OG being a top 2 player on Raptors when he go traded. OG was never a top 2 Raptor in his entire Raptor career. Scottie was & is better then OG. Scottie was the best player on Raptors last season while Siakam + OG was on the team. Siakam was still the 'best player' by reputation and what he's done over the past 4-5 years. Scottie however was clearly better then Siakam for majority of there time together last sesson. Siakam had a poor start to the season while Scottie was playing like a top 20 player to start the year. Siakam improved and started to play at high level again where it was close between him & Scottie. However Scottie had to sacrifice his game abit so Siakam was comfortable given how he was a non shooting threat on the court during last season on Raptors before the trade. But with OG he was playing his most efficient stretch of basketball, improved as a driver in traffic. OG on defense quit on the team his last month.

I think these things are a little more nuanced than that, I think if a team is gonna win 20 games but they are rebuilding well and have young exciting players with a high ceiling, just recording a video about how bad they are isn’t really true or interesting at all. Example of this is the Portland Trail Blazers, in my video I mentioned they’ll be bottom of the West, but the purpose of the video is to talk about how their young pieces are very exciting and have ton of upside. Both things can be true and I think it’s more interesting to talk about the positive side of things for this deep dive series. I get what you’re saying but I think it’s a little simplistic. Multiple issues with this. 1. The Raptors are in a transition period, you could even say slight rebuild. They’re not trying to take down Boston next season, they’re trying to develop their young core into stars and build chemistry between them. The win total is not their top priority next season, although I do think they’re so good that they’ll still probably win around 40 games. 2. Lack of greatness? Who were you expecting to receive in the trades? Jalen Brunson and Tyrese Haliburton? That’s not how it works lol if you watch the games and look at the numbers, they received great value. Not to mention two players that are young and you can build around, Barrett and Quickley.

Only Dolan would assembled a 90s nostalgia throwback team with no real chance of winning. That was the last time this terrible organization was relevant and Dolan is only thinking about $. You're being scammed. Raptors led by Derozan were stuck in a similar place 6-8 years ago but didn't have nearly the media bolstering an untrue contendor status.
