The Torque Bow / Mace Switch-up! - Master Striker on Lift - Gears 5 Frenzy Horde Daily 9-4-2021

If this ends up getting adjusted, I'm sorry. But try it and get your Striker leveled while you have time! This is THE way to do it!
What you do is:
Get Torque Bow
Get Breaker Mace
Shoot Torque Bow and don't get a headshot
Weapon swap to Breaker Mace before the Torque explodes
????
Bleed damage from Blunt Instruments takes off and HURTS
Profit
It's expensive. It's 8k power right out of the gate. But...LOOK AT THAT DAMAGE. So long as you don't have reduced bleeding damage on as a modifier, it's a lot of good damage! I was originally going to share how I've been playing Striker using a Longshot and Breaker Mace (which is still solid, but still), but then I was introduced to this idea on how to do Striker and...yeah it's nuts.
Apparently, this also works on the Scorcher and I'd love to play it asap to see what that feels like.
If this doesn't get adjusted, Striker is S T R O N G. Long ranged, high level bleeding with stim generation and a menace of a melee class? Yes please!
If it does? ...Again sorry about that. But I mean hell I rarely run into Striker advocates anyway and those of us that do enjoy Striker on the norm are still having fun with it :D

I've come across a small glitch I guess you could say.... if you enjoy using the lancer... then you can kind of be your own weapons locker if you have a class that resupplies its own ammo... example... like with the brawler... You can carry two lancers... the lancer you spawn with is the mk3 version... if you drop your Gnasher... you can pick up the lancer that the cyclops/therons carry.. That's the mk2 version... and once you perk up your ammo regen to like level 4-5... you can refill one while using the other... works great for a ranged brawler build...or a veteran... if that's your thing.... although it gets a bit weird picking up ammo boxes... sometimes it will give ammo for both... sometimes ammo for only one

I didn't realize the Striker could bleed with the Torque bow, is that intentional or is that like a bug?

It's a bug, but seems to be pretty widespread with a couple weapons, and it also seems to happen with a few other classes in certain scenarios Like I played Mechanic two nights ago where a modifier was drones are resistant to all weapons other than ballistic weapons. I'd use my turret ult with Shredder Rounds, hit them for 0 damage, get off the turret while holding an enforcer, and the bleed damage would start going off. Idk if they're gonna fix it

3:15. Torque bows causing breaker mace bleeds? Can't believe they haven't patched that. I guess TC just didn't notice because Striker is a pretty rare class.

Interestingly enough we've been seeing this in a few situations. Namely striker + scorcher, but also with last night's modifiers. I was mechanic, ran my shredder rounds. Did 0 damage to drones because it required ballistic damage, but then I'd pop off of my turret and the bleed damage would take off. It might be a bigger issue than just this

@@CherryQuenchGearsofWar yeah yesterday was interesting boom shot caused no damage till you used your assault rifles. Drones just walked in because our mechanic was holding it’s tool. I said get a gun in your hands. Presto problem solved. 😉

@@CherryQuenchGearsofWar Sounds like some kind of issue with how the bleed damage calculation is coded, since it seems to effect many different kinds of bleeds. Anyway, interesting glitch. I bet it could change the way people play if it were more widely known and TC doesn't patch it.

@@StephenYuan I think a lot people about this and it has been like this for over a year. It must be hard fix cause every class with prolonged damage has their versions of this. You really need think sometimes to work around these modifiers in this game now.

This is only one example of several types of exploits in the game. There's plenty of bugs and glitches in this game anyways that negatively affect the playerbase and some like this that positively do. Some of the classes you could argue are way better with these unintended benefits but it is what it is. Nothing that game breaking for TC to care, I suppose. TC won't fix it at this point - you can guarantee that lol. Striker is obviously decently strong without doing this but it is kinda cool to see this kind of stuff even though it is kind of cheap. Tells you that TC really DON'T test anything in this game.

@@DrShwazz well im sure they can fix it because the bleeding glitch with certain weapons or fortification has happend before for instance the first time robot expert class had barrier bleeding dmg and pilot freezing barrier dmg or one similar to this one is the gunner bleeding damage with torque bow switch

@@xvc918x8 Well yeah some of the game BREAKING stuff like Grace barriers was patched. Baird bleeding barriers as well. Early on in the games life cycle - they cared to patch stuff like that. Nowadays they won’t patch it - this game is at the end of its life cycle and there will only be store updates here and there until Gears 6. Which probably won’t be out until 2023 at least. Unless there is some super braindead glitch that 90% of players are doing that is allowing players to complete horde/escape too easily or quickly to the point where they don’t have to pick up the controller…it’s probably not getting touched lol. Heck they haven’t done anything about the versus hackers on PC that ruin Ranked for players bc of forced crossplay. All they do is ban the account, but the hacker just creates another one.
